BlackBerry 8350i Sprint Release Date and Price

RIM’s latest handset the BlackBerry 8350i is to be released on Sprint, but finding the release date and price has been very hard to come by. Many future owners were hoping that they will be able to get their hands on the iDEN-powered BlackBerry before the end of the year.

Thankfully Engadget Mobile might just be able to give us some insight. Sprint are to launch the BlackBerry 8350i on December 1, so you had better consider if this is the phone for you fast, as it looks all set to be a great seller.

The suggested retail price of the BlackBerry 8350i is $479.99, less a 2-year $150 rebate, then take of the instant rebate, then a mail-in rebate. The final price should be $149.99. That is not a bad final price, much lower than some of the other new cell phones hitting the market.

Just talked to Sprint and they say it will be the end of Dec. now. I don’t think i will wait that long, I think they are stringing us along so we don’t leave.

That sucks. I’m guessing maybe the blackberry is having some quality control issues if they are further delaying it’s introduction. There’s really no decent alternatives for those of us with direct connect.

I talked to sprint customer service rep last night for over an hour.
He tells me that the 8350i will not be out until after the 5th of Jan 2009. And that will be pushing the realse date at best.
Take that info for what it’s worth. Don’t want to believe it, but hard not at this point in time with all the delays we have had already.

I talked this weekend with a Nextel rep and they stated that the new blackberry is due in stores Dec 15. The only issue they knew of was being able to produce the quantity of units already ordered. There has been so many pre-orders that they didnt want to put any pre-orders on a back order status. I hope this is true, only time will tell.

my boss actually got the first one (or one of) as a tester from canada and i got to play with it a bit. it seems very easy to use and he says his contacts transferred well and the direct connect works well. mine’s on order for arrival on the 15th. do go order yours at your store and it should be there for pickup on the 15th!!
