Unlocked Blackberry Storm Touch Screen Phone

When choosing how to buy smartphones it can be easy when you can only buy locked or unlocked, but when you have the choice of both you got to judge if it’s better to go on a contract or pay a premium if you don’t make many calls.

You can buy an unlocked Blackberry Storm touch screen phone from the moment the cell phone is released, but the price may be too high for some at around $699.99 (US) and £649.99 (UK). How would you buy the Blackberry Storm, locked or unlocked?

Both versions of the RIM’s (NASDAQ:RIMM) first touch screen BlackBerry phone have the same specs, so lets remind you of the main features. These include on-screen SureType keyboard, full HTML browser, 3.2MP camera, a touch sensitive 3.2-inch display, voice dialing, video capture, memory card slot, 3G, GPS, Email client, Bluetooth and a lot more.

In the shares news, Research In Motion (RIMM) saw a boost today thanks to strong sales of the BlackBerry Bold and ahead of the first touch-screen BlackBerry in the U.S. this week. RIM do have heavy competition from Apple’s (AAPL) iPhone 3G, but this has not affected the share price.

    i have to tell you that the iphone is better. i mean have you seen it? there is nothing like the iphone another compianes like blackberry and nokia should dissapear from the market.
    its just horrible to see how competition is trying to take over the apple competition.
    let me tell you we will never be defeated. APPLE is just perfect and RIM and the other competition would never have a chance against the APPLE effect. sorry but i love mac and i would never change this.
    since apple was invented i never change my mind about about. its simply awesome.

    I agree that apple is a great company, but really to go that far. The iPhone has no multimedia messaging and its email sucks horribly, other than that its good. Oh did i mention the app store?

    Not to mention that most of the world uses MS office for their documents, so if you want productivity…. wait a minute. I forgot the iPhone is for people who don’t do work from their phone. If I’m gonna pay that much money for a phone, it better be useful as well as cool, for crying out loud! Which is why I went with the HTC Fuze, and I couldn’t be happier. It looks great, the web browser is fabulous, and it comes with MS Office Mobile. And the e-mail works fantastically.
    Chris: there is competition because not everyone has the same tastes and priorities. It’s great to have options.

    Ever notice APPLE ade on TV? All they show is someone either browsing or watching pics or perhaps videos… is that all it has to offer.. ?
