Sony PS3 and Nintendo DSi sales are slowing, confirming recession

Sales of the Nintendo Wii were truly amazing on their first week of release in Japan, but the second week sales were not as great. Sales for the second week were almost 105,000, which still managed to top the charts. Sales of the Sony PS3 have also slowed down.

The Sony PSP came in second, with sales of just over 43,000, which was also less than the week before. Sales of the Nintendo Wii and the Xbox 360 were up, the Wii sold almost 25,000 units and the Xbox 360 sold almost 13,000.

Although the Wii and Xbox 360 saw an increase in sales, all other consoles saw a decline, which does prove that the state of the world wide economy is now having an effect on games consoles. This could be a worrying time for Nintendo, Sony and Microsoft, as they hope to increase sales in the run up to the holiday season.
