OLPC XO give 1 laptop, get 1 now live on Amazon
By: Peter Chubb | November 17, 2008 | Leave a CommentAmazon have now begun to take orders for the OLPC Give 1 Get 1 program, this is now the second time that the program has been run. The small green XO laptops allow people to donate one of these mini-laptops to a child in developing countries for free.
Two of these XO laptops cost just $399, but if you wish to just donate one, then you will pay just $199. One Laptop Per Child (OLPC) association decided to team up with Amazon this year, so that ordering and distribution runs smoother.
You will be able to order your XO laptop from Amazon.com or Amazon.co.uk. The OLPC will take 30 days to ship and longer for those in the UK. All orders that are taken outside the U.S. will go through Amazon’s UK website, and will be delivered in the first quarter of 2009, if not later.
