Nintendo Wii Music fails to impress: no top ten showing
By: Peter Chubb | November 17, 2008 | Leave a CommentWhenever Nintendo Wii launches a big game title you can expect it to do very well in sales. That is not the case with Nintendo Wii Music, as it has not even made it in to the US top ten. The new game has sold fewer than 81,000 units in the first 11 days since the release.
Nintendo Wii Music was surrounded by so much hype, but it failed to leave up to its predecessor, Wii Fit, which sold about 687,700 units in the same amount of time as the Wii Music had been released.
One reason why the game has not proved popular is due to the saturation of games in the genre, like Rock Band and Guitar Hero. Digital Spy has picked up on the fact that the Wii Music did not come bundled with hardware.
