iPhone Google voice-powered search: where is it?

A few days ago we reported that Google were to launch version two of their search app for the Apple iPhone. The new version is to get voice-powered search, allowing you to do away with using the keyboard. However the question is where is it?
The New York Times had reported that the new Google App should be available on the Apple App Store on Friday, but as yet, the update is still not available. When you do a search on the app store, all we get is an older version of the Google Mobile App.
Cnet has a theory on this; the delay could be due to Appleās approval process, which often takes days or months. They did point out that Google Earth for the iPhone only took a few days for Apple to approve it. Hopefully we will see the updated Google Mobile App soon.
