Google’s iPhone App: Voice search to increase Apple phone Sales
By: Alan Ng | November 17, 2008 | Leave a CommentGoogle’s new voice-enabled search application was meant go live on the Apple App store on Friday, but as you’ve probably heard, It never went up on the store because Apple themselves forgot about it.
We reported earlier about the iPhone Google voice-powered search and asked where is it? Following on from that post, this is a strange thing to happen after having a big launch on Friday, only to have Apple ruin the party. This is surely quite embarrassing from Google’s point of view, if you consider the fact that they decided to launch the App on the iPhone first rather than its own Android platform.
At the moment, only the old version of the app without voice features is available and it is unclear when Apple is going to respond to the news and put the new app up on its store. Apple really screwed up with amazing app in our opinion, this application will sell tons of iPhones and it’s been treated just like any other app.
Google’s iPhone app will take your speech and within seconds send a sound file to Google’s servers and return the search results. This is revolutionary and takes browsing the web on your mobile phone to another level, but Apple should of pushed this app through for Friday? (Google’s press day).
