Adobe Systems the software makers and ARM Holdings the people behind chip designing have at last decided to come together and bring us better Web services to ARM-powered devices, these devices do indeed include cellphones from major companies.
Adobe that are U.S-based has become very successful after making tools like video software to make things easy for the rise of Google’s YouTube and even the likes of optimising its Flash Player 10 and Adobe AIR for cell phones based on ARM processors. Ian Drew, ARM’s marketing chief said “It’s all about bringing the Internet experience everywhere.”
There are very big handset makers out there including Samsung, Nokia, and Research in Motion the people behind BlackBerry and indeed Apple who have processors designed by UK-based ARM at their core. The new collaboration will be part of the Adobe’s Open Screen Project; the second half of 2009 will bring good things like a series of ARM-based processors for cellphones, Adobe’s Flash 10 and AIR and even set-top boxes. We will keep you posted.
