Windows Live and Web 2.0: Google Search Still King
By: Peter Chubb | November 14, 2008 | Leave a CommentMicrosoft announced just recently that they are to beef up their Window Live by giving it a Web 2.0 makeover, and top of the list is a new suite of online applications. The software giant is adding a host of new communication and social networking tools.
Microsoft is doing all it can to catch up to the mighty Google, but there is no getting away from the fact that Google is still king, and will take a lot to knock them of their throne. The problem that Microsoft have is, when you go and tell someone that you searched for something on the Internet, you tell them that you Googled it. Just something small like that is a big stab in the back for Microsoft with their Windows Live.
That does not mean that Microsoft will lie down and let Google just walk all over them, they are trying all the time to improve the search experience. The new Windows Live with its Web 2.0 makeover goes a long way to try and improve things, but is it enough?
