We spoke yesterday about AMD’s new 45nm Shanghai Opterons, but AMD have not stopped there. The troubled micro processor company also announced the launch of their new range of netbook CPU’s the ATI Stream brand, which is to be called the Conesus” processor.
AMD hope that this new netbook processor will be able to take the fight to their rival’s new Intel Atom. The new processors are set for a launch in the first half of 2009, and is hoped to be a more attractive product for both consumer and enterprise markets.
AMD need these new products to do well, as they have had to inform us that their Fusion platform will be delayed, and will not launch until sometime in 2011. That is a whole year later than AMD first planned.
