By: Peter Chubb | November 14, 2008
The Dell Vostro A860 Laptop has been spoken about so much, and it is great to see that the new laptop is finally available in the U.S. Emerging markets such as Asia, Africa, Europe and Latin America have already had their hands on the Dell Vostro A860, since August.
The new laptop comes with a 15.4-inch screen, a choice of a Celeron or Pentium Dual Core processor, up to 2GB of memory, 160GB hard drive, GMA X3100+ integrated graphics, and weighs just 5.4 pound.
The Dell Vostro A860 Laptop certainly offers a lot for the price, there is also an option for Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. The laptop comes with a choice of either Vista Home Basic or Vista Business. The starting price is just $379.

A great piece of work indeed but I didnt like the gloss finish. One has to keep cleaning it each time he uses or touches it.
It has a 15.6 screen. check dell.com
Have had my Vostro A860 (blue) for about a month. Better than I could ever imagined for a $500 notebook ! Upgraded to 2 G RAM, 250 G HD and bluetooth. Love the light (5 lb) weight and the 15.6 in screen. Would recommend to anyone looking for a good portable notebook for business or pleasure
i thought that you could get this amazing laptop for only $399 is that true. i have also done alot of research on this and read many readers reviews and have only heard good things about this laptop so i think i will get it if i can get it for $399. coolio laptop.

I have a Core2Duo version of this laptop and it sucks big time. In a runtime of a normal day 8=10 hours it freezes up at least twice if not thrice. The freezing is indefinite and a Ctrl+Alt+Del will not work. This freezing is also Independent of OS as I have upgraded to Windows 7 from Vista basic and tried Wubi too. I am from a PC hardware background and my conclusion is that this is a hardware issue. Multiple OS's cannot freeze w/o it being OS independent.. I hope the shipping was not to blame. Dell! Do something about it
