2008 Black Friday Deals: It’s 2 weeks away

2008 Black Friday is just 2 weeks away, and is a time when we will be out getting some of the best deals of the year. Black Friday is the Friday after Thanksgiving in the U.S., and is the start of the Christmas shopping season. Black Friday is not an official holiday, but many employees take the day off, which increases the amount of shoppers going in to stores or looking online to find the best deals.

Online stores are already advertising their 2008 Black Friday deals, from Amazon, Dell, Best But, Wal-Mart, and many more. Retailers often start to decorate their stores ready for the Christmas season; many retailers open their doors early, in the anticipation of crowds of shoppers looking to get a bargain.

Black Friday is a term that means a heavy day for traffic, but the media and merchants use the term to say that they are in the black, meaning they are turning a profit. Black Friday 2008 will be a testing time this year, as many shoppers have to tighten their belts, a direct result of a troubled economy.
