Xbox 360 Truth: Rushed, Compromises and RROD
By: Alan Ng | November 13, 2008 | 4 CommentsIt’s no secret that the Microsoft Xbox 360 has had its fair share of problems since its launch in 2005, mainly due to its RROD problems which has reportedly cost Microsoft $1.15bn (£738m) last year. The guardian has written an interesting and detailed article about some of the problems that have plagued the system over the last few years.
Many have blamed the RROD issue as a result of poor production quality, and the fact that it was rushed out too early. It was also revealed that Microsoft’s team of engineers begun working on the Xbox 360 more than a year after Sony’s engineers began on the Playstation 3, but even then, Microsoft still managed to release their console a year earlier.
Sure the Playstation 3 is not perfect but that decision alone has cost Microsoft a lot of money when they could have perhaps waited a little longer and this could have prevented the RROD death issue all together.
