It was only a few days ago that we were reminded how fast the Wii Balance Board can run out of battery power, being constantly reminded that our battery was low while playing Nintendo’s Wii Fit.
The answer came in the form of a product that we have just had a chance to review; it’s called the “Snakebyte Play & Charge Kit” designed for Nintendo’s Wii Balance Board.

The kit features a Li-ion battery that easily fits in the balance board and a charging cable that measures 9 ft. / 3 meters. One really useful feature is the ability to charge while playing on the balance board, this saves the need for two rechargeable battery packs.

The Snakebyte Play and Charge Kit is really easy to use, you remove the batteries from the Nintendo Wii Balance board and replace with just the Snakebyte charge kit that includes a cover.
To charge the device when its running low on juice you only need to connect the cable provided to the rechargeable battery pack and then the USB end to a USB port on either the Nintendo Wii or any other device (we connected it to the Playstation 3).

Snakebyte do give a word of warning to avoid completely discharging the kit, so keep this in mind and leave for several hours to complete a full charge.

This kind of product should of came with the balance board in the first place, but it did not. So we recommend the Snakebyte Play & Charge Kit to everyone that wants to save cash on buying batteries and the convenience of charging while playing.

Great review of a quality looking product. However, I personally really question the need for this. My kids and I have played many, many hours with our balance board - and we are still on the first set of batteries.
Do you think this is really necessary?
