PS3 SingStar Bluetooth Microphones: When a wireless mic?

Thousands of homes love to play SingStar on the Sony PS3 and with the new SingStar vol.3 and Abba out now, things will only get more fun.

We play SingStar just about every week and have 169 songs (30 on disc); this is thanks to being able to download songs via the SingStar online and PSN. The only problem we have is with the mics.

Why do we have old school technology for mics and where are the Bluetooth microphones for Playstation 3’s SingStar?

When SingStar volume 1 was released on the PS3 it was confirmed that Bluetooth microphones would be included as you can see in the photo above, this was later changed thanks to the developers having problems running two Bluetooth microphones together.

The latest news we currently have is that they were due to be released in 2008 and this looks less likely with only one and half months left of this year. We will update you if we get a release date or more news.

Do you want wireless microphones for the PS3’s SingStar?

Bash the PS3 some more why don’t you; you don’t seem to do enough of that on this site, are you paid by Microsoft?

  2. Cliff says:

He wasn’t really bashing the PS3 as much as he was blaming the developers for the lack of microphones, but they do bash the PS3 quite a bit.

How fake is that picture !
Whoever make this article just found a picutre of the mic’s, stuck them with the ppicture of the game and added that text in just to prove their point.
It would be nice to have wireless mics though …. but still no need to go make a fake picture up

  4. I can’t wait to get a wireless microphone!

You know what else would be great, replacement mics!!! If one breaks, the only way to replace it is find someone selling just one mic on ebay (which is pretty risky) or buy the game again. It doesn’t make sense why they don’t sell them apart for people who’ve broken their mics.

    To Stephanie,
You can get a single replacement microphone on -line through Game Store but it will be just black with no red or blue around it,mine came OK for about £10.

    Happy Singing mate,

    Tim.

NO one has to bash Singstar or PS3! Sony are doing a grand job already and now they are missing the boat on yet another xmas even more so since the xbox have brought out lips.

Originally we were promised the wireless mics with volume 1 we were also promised that with the backward compatibility we could upload our existing PS2 volumes of singstar instead of having to change disks all the time… but not only do we not have wireless mics but we have to pay for the back catalogue… at ridiculous prices…

Who seriously cares about online capability and singstore, why don’t they concentrate on the magic formula that was inherited from the original Singstar…

Buzz has wireless controllers using the usb dongle why is it so complicated!!!

Come on Sony get your act together heads should roll…
