
Official: RED DSMC (Digital Stills and Motion Camera) System
By: Peter Chubb | November 13, 2008 | Leave a CommentRED has now made it official, they are to launch their DSMC (Digital Stills and Motion Camera) System, and should be ready by 2009. There will be a choice of two systems, the professional Scarlet or “master professional”
The cameras allow you to upgrade your EPIC brains; there are also a number of camera configurations to choose. The brains that are used in these cameras have been built upon Mysterium-X and Mysterium Monstro sensors, these start from 2/3-inch, and will go up to 6×17-cm.
The Scarlet range will have four choices, ranging from $2,500 to $12,000. These ranges will have a choice of different lens mounts. Epic are also to launch similar mounts, their prices start from $28,000 and will go up to $55,000. These will launch from 2010.
