When it comes to off-roading, nothing comes close to the Baja Trophy Truck series. These vehicles are truly awesome, and with 20 inches of suspension travel, they eat anything thing that gets in their way. Now VW wants to better their older vehicles and are developing a diesel-powered Touareg TDI Baja Truck.
The new Volkswagen contender will have a 5.5L V12 turbocharged diesel engine, and will produce 550 horsepower, as well as a massive 625 lb-ft of torque. The new Touareg will have more than enough power to threaten the competition.
The new VW Touareg TDI will be the first diesel to compete in the Baja 1000 in the Trophy Truck class. VeeDub will unveil the truck on November 19th, just before the start of the 41st the big race.
