EA Sports Active for Nintendo Wii

After the worldwide success of Nintendo’s Wii-fit, it is no surprise that we have been hearing about Nintendo’s next big plans for that genre. Dubbed ‘the virtual personal trainer’, it is going to be seen as a good way to help you lose some weight.

EA Sports Active is an interactive fitness program being developed with the help of Oprah Winfrey’s personal trainer Bob Greene, and it will be released in March 2009. It does look like an exciting new way for Nintendo to progress and it sounds like an ideal successor to Wii-Fit.

With a legion of Nintendo fitness fanatics of around 12.5 million, EA Sports Active will be the fans next choice of exercise. What do you guys think of the idea of losing weight in your living room?

EA sports Active sounds awesome. I am somewhat disabled and being able to work out in the privacy of my home will help. It’s embarrasing to work out as a FAT woman in a public place. Even taking a walk can be an embarrasement. If the equipment will fit around a obese woman’s thighs they will have a hit!

I picked up this game yesterday and immediately had my first workout. I picked up my Wii Fit over the weekend and, while I love it, I found that it wasn’t overly challenging.

Using EA Sports Active I actually felt like I got an intense workout and worked up a really good sweat. Not only that, but it’s fun and encouraging so you actually look forward to using it.
