World of Warcraft WoW Servers Down

World of Warcraft WoW Servers Down

By: Daniel Chubb | November 12, 2008 | 3 Comments

With World of Warcraft (WoW) being so popular it’s not surprising that everyone goes crazy when they cannot play due to servers being down, and this is just what happened in the last 12 hours.

The WoW servers were down for hours and after a few sites contacting Blizzard asking for more information about the issues, they were informed that it was due to “an overly-extended maintenance period”.

By 11:50pm EST realms had started to come back up, you can view a list of all available World of Warcraft Realms as well as the status of each here. It looks like Blizzard may need to keep the gamers better informed in the future.

I don’t see how they are going to be able to keep the servers up for the next couple of days. With the way Lich is going to be able to be installed on Friday they will have thousands upon thousands of people all in one place because they are level 70 and trying to get to the top level of 80. Come on if they are having trouble with patches they are definately going to have trouble when the real thing is able to be used.

Excellent point, wonderful blog. Look, did you guys hear about Blizz looking to utilize Real ID on their message board? Guess they became aware that that is no way to win at wow, because they reversed the decision. Now we can all get back to enjoying WoW without worrying about compromised privacy. And they can return to working on Cataclysm. BooYAH!
