Verizon Samsung Saga Launches Friday

The Samsung Saga was spoken about a lot during 2008, but now Verizon is about to launch the cell phone this Friday, November 12, 2008. The handset will start arriving through telesales, but stores will not see the GSM-equipped Saga for another two weeks.

December 1 is when the handset will make it to stores, but that will only be on a fulfillment basis, the full retail release is to be announced at a later date. It is with that do care attitude that will come back to kick Verizon in the butt, as it will affect sales of the Samsung Saga. It seems that Verizon has other things on their mind, oh yes the BlackBerry Storm.

The handset will come in blue and features a QWERTY keyboard. The Saga will run on Windows Mobile, and will also feature global roaming. The Samsung Saga cost $199.99 on a two-year contract that is after a $70 mail-in rebate.

I’m really considering this phone but from what I’ve seen, its the Verizon version of ATT’s Samsung Epix only slightly downgraded. Sadly, I believe they cost the same.
