Opera Browser for the Nintendo Wii is getting an update; many users have been complaining that the current version is a bit of a pain. There are a number of new features, which will hopefully help to improve the browsing experience on the Wii.
Some of the new features include, new buttons, Wii Speak compatible, up to six tabs open at once and view Wii mail in the browser. The new Opera Browser will cost 500 points from December; owners of the older browser will get the upgrade for free.
Having the tabs is certainly going to make browsing easier, but most Nintendo Wii users agree that this update does not go far enough. Most are asking for Updated Flash Support, but this is a job that could be too much for Nintendo to do.

Are you the same idiot that keeps writing crap on thjs product reviews site which google news picks up as actual articles?
Adobe have only released SDK’s for Flash up to VERSION 6. Which means anything that isnt PC/Mac can only support Flash up to VERSION 6! Common knowledge, that, and a little bit of research goes a long way.
I will continue my complaints to google for this crap continuously being registered as news.
@DA_ALC
PS3 has 9.
And Wii has 7
And 6…is outdated as hell and 7 too 9 and 10 are the future for now.
We need Flash 9
Actually ROB, PS3 doesn’t have flash 9. It has some other version that Flash cobbled together that’s basically flash 7+. It’s just flash 7, with some added video codec support, and the ability to lie to websites that it’s flash 9 (to get around the version checking). If the website really does require some function of flash 9 that can’t be ignored, the PS3 browser will still show the “You need a newer version of Flash” error.
Actually ROB 2.0, PS3 DOES have Flash 9 support. Check the PS website (http://www.us.playstation.com/Support/SystemUpdates/PS3).
Which leaves this questions in the air:
If Sony can host Flash 9 on their console, why not Nintendo? Sony doesn’t have a platform that Adobe’s developed an SDK for. So how does the PS3 have Flash 9 and not the Wii?
Hehehe… it all boils down to “MONEY” people… Sony blew some trumpets and gave money to the monkey so it could dance!!!… but then again.. u need that guy to turn the crank so the music comes out!!! U guys dig what I’m saying!!!??…
well this argument has been going on for 2 years now.. sounds like to me somebody needs to file a class action lawsuit against nintendo for false advertising (granted the lawsuit is a bit of a stretch) but no lawsuit no flash 9 thats basically how its going to be, because it seems obvious that nintendo has told us they are not going to do an update (actually I think nintendo told us that over a year ago… we just weren’t listening) !!
