Phone Apps: Blackberry Storm, T-Mobile G1 and Apple iPhone
Filed under: Cell Phone Accessories, Cell Phones

Cell phones are changing, these days it is all about the Apps that make the phone what it is. The Apple iPhone is the king of cell phones and has the best app solution, both T-Mobile and the upcoming BlackBerry Storm both aim to provide an app store that will help to improve their handsets.
Apple has their App Store, and there is no getting away from the fact that this is the one to beat. There are thousands of apps available on the Apple App Store, all waiting to make its way to your iPhone. There are a few faults with the iPhone, but it is the apps that help to take the pressure of the weak points of the handset.
The T-Mobile G1 is a new phone, not even a month old yet, and there are already a few apps available for it. With Google behind the G1, the sky is the limit. Then we have the BlackBerry Storm, this phone will also rely on apps to make it better. The strange thing is RIM will not have an app store when the phone launches, due to teething troubles, the RIM app store will not be ready until March.

The G1 Phone, BlackBerry Storm or iPhone 3G for Christmas?

for the G1, i just counted 258 apps so far. and about 25 of those have been added this afternoon (i actually scrolled through them all this morning, and just now ther are many new ones).
there are apps as simple as a bubble level (you know for seeing if things are level or not), to an OB Pregnancy Date app. there’s a mario bros emulator, moon phase calendar, and my fave, a beer counter
Android will quickly become a wealth of apps just as there is a ton of add-ons for firefox.
i just went to check out the apple apps store and couldn’t do anything because i do not have iTunes installed
too bad…so sad…
well, download it then? doesn’t take that much time to get itunes
i kind of have a thing for non-proprietary and non-bloated things…
then why did you buy an iphone? it’s like buying a car and protesting gas….. dumb.
