Hidden Microsoft Windows 7 features
By: Peter Chubb | November 12, 2008 | Leave a CommentMicrosoft released an alpha build of their new OS, Windows 7, and the software giant had hidden some features from them. Thankfully a programmer has managed to unlock a number of unfinished features for the new operating system.
Rafael Rivera, a developer for a Virginia-based company, has managed to find a utility called “Blue Badge”, this is a utility that patches nine Windows 7system files, two of these include “explorer.exe” and “shell32.dll.”
This tool then turns off the protection scheme that was added to Windows 7. Now he is able to have a look at some features that Microsoft did not want us to see. Rivera was able to access the Windows 7 taskbar, which Microsoft spoke about during the Professional Developers Conference.
