Gears of War 2: Xbox 360′s new game sells 2 million copies

We all knew that Gears of War 2 was going to be huge, but Microsoft have confirmed that the game has sold more than 2 million units since its launch weekend. Stats given, indicated that 1.5 million people signed into the game over the weekend, which resulted in a staggering 15 million gameplay hours thus setting a new record for online Microsoft Live players.

Having played the Co-op mode online for a few hours online myself, I know how addictive and compelling the action-packed story mode is, as players are once again put in the role of Marcus Fenix and the Delta Squad as you progress through the cities on Sera fighting endless waves of Locusts.

Retailers in London prepared for the huge release by opening their stores at 12.01am on the Friday November 7th weekend giving fans all over the country a chance to queue up and receive their copy of the game straight from launch.

    GOW 2 campaign is absolutely awesome, however the final boss is a huge disappointment. It took me about 25-30 secs to beat it on normal without getting ANY damage. Did it again on hardcore in under a minute. Was a real let down to the most action packed campaign I have ever played.

    Also, the multiplayer has severe issues at the moment that need to be fixed, if they aren’t fixed soon then all the die hard fans will go back to Gears1 for sure. The matchmaking system is literally broken.

    Overall though I am happy to see this game at the top of the all format chart this week and I’m sure the problems will be fixed

    Yes the game is just amazing. I have not finished the game yet but I’m at act 4 chapter 3 right now. The only let down for me so far is the matchmaking is not good and needs fixing. Also the grenades I’m not sure if I like them or not because the fact you can stick them to the wall and when the enemy comes by they explode. If it you going in to a area with these grenades on the wall it’s not cool. I literally played a game where this person littered the hall with smok grenedes and I keep getting knocked over. it takes your momentum away and it’s a cheap kill for the other person. There also is much warning for you to get away. Also if you see it in advance you can shoot it but it takes so long for the grenade to explode. The smoke grenades I’m not sure if I like the fact it knocks you down when it explodes. I prefer it just to let off smoke. Also the Shotgun is not a powerful as it use to be. Quite a let down. Other from that the game just Blows the Mind away and it is the Best Game this Year.

    The last “boss” wasn’t really a boss. The final sequence is more or less the cherry on top of the icing.
