Gears of War 2: Xbox 360′s new game sells 2 million copies
By: Alan Ng | November 12, 2008 | 3 CommentsWe all knew that Gears of War 2 was going to be huge, but Microsoft have confirmed that the game has sold more than 2 million units since its launch weekend. Stats given, indicated that 1.5 million people signed into the game over the weekend, which resulted in a staggering 15 million gameplay hours thus setting a new record for online Microsoft Live players.
Having played the Co-op mode online for a few hours online myself, I know how addictive and compelling the action-packed story mode is, as players are once again put in the role of Marcus Fenix and the Delta Squad as you progress through the cities on Sera fighting endless waves of Locusts.
Retailers in London prepared for the huge release by opening their stores at 12.01am on the Friday November 7th weekend giving fans all over the country a chance to queue up and receive their copy of the game straight from launch.
Do you have any stories from the Gears of War 2 launch weekend? I’m sure many of you queued up outside your local retailer to get your hands on one, right?!
