It seems an eternity since we first learned of the existents of the Sony Ericsson XPERIA X1, but not the phone could about to make it to domestic sale. The XPERIA X1A, as it is known in North America has now made its way to the inventory system at Best Buy.
Thanks to Boy Genius Report, the Sony Ericsson XPERIA X1A could hit stores on December 7, with a retail price of $799.99. Wow now that is a huge price tag, I do not think that many of these will sell over the holiday season, not at that price.
As yet there is no word on a contract price, but it had better be something special as there are some great deals to be had on better handsets. What do you think the contract price of the Sony Ericsson XPERIA X1A should be?

The price for the new Sony Xperia X1 should be about $299.00 with a contract, but absolutely no more than $399.00 with contract..otherwise no sale Sony!!
First I would like to start off by saying the UK has been selling this phone for 499.95 Euro, converted into USD comes to 628.21. If Sony thinks they are gonna stick the Americas with a $800.00 phone with only one color (black) and one network (ATT) they better think again. $628.21 or less is all im willing to pay for this phone without a plan. With the bad news that I have been reading; pirce push backs in Europe, only for one network, and only black for the X1a (a=america), has now forced me to look into other phones like the HTC Touch Diamond wich runs for $599.99 without plan. Because im not a fan of the Dimond I have been looking at other products by HTC like the HTC HD. I still have my heart set on the X1 at this point, however if Sony does not give the X1 a competitive price on the US Sony web site, and I know im not alone on this, I will simply find another phone.
HTC Touch Pro “Fuze” on AT&T is $299 with contract. I wouldn’t pay more than $349 for the xperia with contract.
I have been following this phone since February, and if Sony puts together a good plan with AT&T the X1 is my new phone…But if they stick Americans with an $800.00 price tag I’m looking somewere else also….don’t forget Sony, the X1 could be the phone of the year just don’t gouge your followers…Also An Outstanding Job to all our Vets !!!!!!
I hear that the X1i works on US 3G ATT. I might just order it from Clove.UK where it’s around $630.00 shipped. On the other hand, Best Buy always charges a little more. I’m sure once it’s here, other retailers will have it for less.
I hear what everyone says about this phone. The UK version is cheaper in price just beware that their is a slight configuration on the network connectivity. I just recently sold my iphone 3G for 750 dlls on ebay to pick up the x1a. I almost ordered the UK version but after researching the phone a bit more,I decided to wait for the US version. I guess I will be the sucker on the Best Buy line, but dont feel too bad to drop that much money since the iPhone provided a good profit payback.
Yes, there are other phones, but this phone is a pretty good package. The price is steep but I also like the fact that not a lot of people will have this phone. After the launch of the iPhone 3G, it looks like everyone has it now.
just like everyone else i too have been waiting for months to get this phone. but 800.00 is to steep. i guess i will just wait alittle longer for att to pick it up so i can get a contract. so all u att customers go get it.
My guess is the contract price will be set at teh exact same as the Touch Pro / Fuze.
We don’t have to worry about contract or anything because att or tmobile neither of then will ever carry SE X1.
As like the P series of SE were never picked up by att or tmobile in the U.S.
First of all $800.00 is a lot for a sony…but u also got to keep in mind that HTC is making the phone and they are known for the best of the best phones. Honestly I get what I want and even if the price was more, I would be one of the few that are going to get it no matter what the cost is. Right now im with t-mobile and I have a sidekick 2008 but im looking to upgrade and if I have to switch to ATT then that isn’t a problem. The Sony Ericsson XPERIA X1 seems like a great phone and I would feel honored knowing I’ve got one in my pocket!
