Parallels have released Desktop 4 for the Apple Mac, and the first thing that you will notice is the major speed improvement. This fourth generation virtualization software features a new user interface along with a number of other enhancements.
The speed improvement is around 50 percent more over the previous version, thanks to up to GB RAM per virtual machine. The new view mode makes the software a dream to use. It seems every year Parallels releases a new version, Desktop 2 in 2006, and Desktop 3 in 2007.
Parallels Desktop has sold more than 1.5 million copies in over 125 countries, and has been released in 10 languages. Version 4 of the ever popular virtualization software adds all those extra features that customers had requested.

I downloaded and installed. I feel now Window XP VM is usable. with previous parallels DT v3, the speed was not acceptable level for me on my MacBook Pro with 2.4Ghz, but it is now much better. Every new version, it gets better! That is the way forward!
For me 4 has been a big step down in terms of performance. I now see lockups and near constant 40%+ CPU utilization from the XP VM. A big step down in performance and stability from version 3 and because the VM is not backwardly compatible, I don’t even have downgrading as an option.
arrrgggg downloaded and..wow it’’s very slowww,just installed activesync,and need to wait 20 minutes to finish….back to fushion….
