Little Big Planet Levels Deleted: Sony PS3 Gamers How do you feel?

We reported yesterday that there have been copyright infringements on LittleBigPLanet, when Sony PS3 users have been creating their own levels. Players had noticed that their custom levels were moderated, then deleted.

Player are now very angry and have been expressing their feelings on the official Little Big Planet forum. As yet there is no official word from Media Molecule, but it seems that it is the use of copyrighted materials is the cause of the levels being deleted.

What is making LittleBigPlanet players even angrier is the fact that Media Molecule’s system does not allow users to change the copyrighted material so that they can keep their level. How do you feel, that your levels are being deleted?

Again - don’t buy into the Sony propaganda that this is about copyright and only a handfull of levels were affected - its a lie.

The truth is they have not dedicated personnel to truly investigating, notifying, and helping to fix levels that were SOLEY REPORTED BY THE USER SNITCHING MECHANISM called GOOD GRIEF.

What instead follows are mass deletions. Sony and especially MM should be ashamed. Evidence of this is that people are requesting Sony for help to get their levels online again - but with NO HELP. Simply the levels remained DELETED.

If ANYONE doesn’t like your game on LBP - you run the risk of it being deleted simply because ANOTHER USER - NOT Sony or MM - but ANOTHER USER reported something they didn’t like about it.

Some users are simply going around and reporting them for fun now because Sony mass deletes the levels.

    Lazy bastards.

You idiots. What do you think would happen? Don’t use copyright material, that’s all.

The game is still the best new game for the system.

    cd drive…..

they aren’t idiots if it’s not copyright matierial they are deleting….

    can’t you read??

  4. starplayer69 says:

in my first 1 i could put prices in, but now it won’t work no more

Its not an issue of copyright infringement or being too pornographic or even being offensive. Its an issue of freedom of expression( which sony and MM try to market the game as the game with the greatest expression of all time) i think this type of censorship is going to destroy how great this game could become. Now to all the PS3 haters, go give microsoft an entra $100 a year for your LIVE! Idiots your main reason for not liking the 3 was the price. Right? you know it and i know it. mY free online service is awesome and am happy that five years from now, you suckas will have paid way more for your sub-par console with an outdated HD DVD player. HAHAHA. ohh the woes of spending thousands on a console and games and accesories and then having to validate them to your friends and strangers and anyone else who laughs in your face. For the record i want a 360 just to say i got all 3 new gens. also i rank the consoles like this
    1) Wii no contest
    2) PS3 cons- poorly marketed and not showing signs of getting more popular
    3) 360 pro - a large online community
    4) N64 - the greatest games and the greatest past generation console
    5) Caleco Vison ( spelling?) Donkey kong JR and Mario bros. need i say more
    6) NES - the first of many gens that will continue to dominate
ok so i threw the vision in there cause it was my first console. i was 4. anyways i don’t care if LBP online is being run by karl Marx lets build a level and offend some bitches.

  7. Andy says:

ball-sac you forgot Sega! I loved Sega Master System and then after that NES and SNES and Mega Drive and then Playstation 1 and 2.

Anyway, I’ve had a 360 for years, always thought the price of the PS3 was way too high so I never got one, also got the Wii when it came out, and now recently I’ve been thinking about getting the PS3 mainly for Little Big Planet but also kinda for Metal Gear Solid and Resistance 2 but now I’m hearing about this level deletion stuff it’s kinda putting me off! Little Big Planet was like the main reason I wanted to get a PS3 and now I don’t know if I want to if my level is gonna get deleted… :(

  8. Kimm says:

Well - I really don’t see the problem - why delete?

Sony or MM has made it possible for the public to post new levels - just like facebook does with their applications. It’s not Sony or MM who is violating copyrights - its everybody.

Like in all community based websites/games/whatever where content is user generated - it’s almost impossible to upheld copyright laws - just face it - you cannot change the way the internet is evolving.

facebook cannot check every image or text posted for content violating copyrights - it’s impossible!

If someone don’t want to share an image - keep it analogue and hide it - for god sake - hide it.

  9. Kimm says:

Somebody made a level called “Batman” - so what! It only means that person propably likes the product and is actually marketing it for you - FREE!

  10. mike says:

    meh..who cares.. the game rocks
