Sony PS3′s LittleBigPlanet and moderated content
By: Peter Chubb | November 10, 2008 | 4 CommentsSo you are getting on well with your new Sony PS3 game, LittleBigPlanet, and love the user levels. Try and not get too attached to them, as they are now being moderated without warning. Basically, Sony is deleting them without any warning and no explanation.
Destructoid say that the main reason is due to copyrighted material, this has now burst the bubble for LittleBigPlanet, as the scope of what you can do with the game has been cut by half. There were some levels that had been based on other popular games, such as Sonic the Hedgehog and Metal Gear Solid; they have since been taken down.
Once the level has been removed, you can’t even take out the offending material and upload again, the level is wiped clean and gone forever, so you will have to start all over again. We do understand that material has to have a copyright, but this sort of thing should have been explained before the game was launched, maybe Sony was worried that it might affect sales.
