For those of you who thought that no phone would ever be able to outsell the ever popular Motorola RAZR, you had better take a seat. It seems that the Apple iPhone 3G has been shifting their phones by the bucket load, and has become the best selling domestic handset.
This is a shift for phone sales in the U.S.; it now seems that simple phones are not as popular as they used to be, consumers now prefer more complex cell phones full of features. This news follows that the iPhone 3G came top of a J.D. Power study, which showed that the handset was a more popular Smartphone than RIM’s BlackBerry range.
Although this news is good for Apple, overall there is bad news for the whole cell phone market, as sales have fallen 15 percent year-on-year. The top brand position went to LG, which also managed to have two handsets in the top five.
Will the BlackBerry Storm have what it takes to outsell both handsets?
