Compaq CQ-50 139WM: Did you find one at Walmart?

The HP Compaq CQ-50 139WM has been advertised on Walmart for a few days now, and the store will be selling this laptop today, Saturday, November 08, 2008. The laptop is being offered at an amazing deal, just $298 which Walmart call a loss leader.

Did you manage to find one of these Compaq CQ50 139WM at your local store, as each Wal-Mart was only stocking 10 of these. You do have to worry that this sort of thing could set of frenzy at the store.

A number of people decided to take a trip to their local Wal-Mart store before the offer, one store said that they did not know anything about the offer. Walmart are clever, they know that most people will not be able to get their hands on one of these Compaq CQ-50 139WM laptops, so you will purchase something else instead.

I saw the ad for this laptop on Thursday. I checked my local store and they said it would be on sale at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday. I got in early and was able to get one. I am impressed with it so far! It has exceeded my expectations. I look forward to checking out all that it can do.

Yes! I did get on at Wal-mart. I decided to get up at 5 in the morning,, I get there at about 5:30 am. The store didn’t open till 7. I thought that I wait in my car till 7. To my amazment, there was a lineand people were there since 2 am. Is this laptop really that much of a great deal? I had called a few stores to see if they had any info as to how many of these laptops they had….I got lucky when I called the third store…it slipped that they had 60!

I was one of the lucky ones, number 48! I waited 5 hours . Yes it was worth the wait.

simple laptop, but it gets the job done……hooray for me!

Yep. Got one Saturday at the Alcoa Walmart in TN. No lines. No waiting. Hubby wanted one for Christmas. What a deal. Wish it had XP, I’m a bit skeptical of VISTA. We’ll see…

    THE DEAL OF A LIFETIME!
I live across the street from a Walmart so at about 7:45 Saturday morning I decided to take a little walk. Once in the store I noticed a line with about 40 people. I asked myself, self, if only 10 to a store why do I see 40 + people waiting? So, I decided to ask a sales associate who told me if I joined the line and was lucky enough to get a ticket, (which she was handing out) I would get one. I did get a ticket as did about 10 others behind me. And when I left she had about 20 to 30 tickets in her hand.
This laptop is ideal for surfing, checking e-mails, word processing. I recommend it highly!

I got one for my Mom age 82 and she is loving it!! Numbers were handed out, an employee was with us to answer any questions, in particular ones that came later and told to go to the back of the line, and had copies of the products on sale. It went so well it didn’t seem like 2 hrs waiting. Easy breezy and great computer so far. GREAT DEAL!

I went to the Brand New S Walmart in Broussard, LA at about 7:00am on 11/08/08. I went to buy the PS3 #99 and you got a $100 WM gift card. I ended up buying the Laptop as well for my son and I to share (like that will happen). Anyway my WM had 18. The sale started at 8:00 and by 7:30 they all were spoken for. I also bought the 2gb mps/walkman. I hope it works with all the cool ipod docking things with out paying the Ipod price.
    Thanks for letting me ramble

I saw the ad for it on the walmart website the day before the sale. I decided to get to the store an hour early and prayed the entire way there that the line wouldn’t be out the door. I went to the Super Walmart in Middletown, Ohio which is open 24hrs. Luckily I was number 13 in line and they had 37 computers. The online ad did not say ” 1 per customer” so I was able to get two of them. They are for my 13 and 17 year old daughters for Christmas. I did a little research of my own the night before just to make sure it was worth my time and money to go. I thought it was a great deal and the added plus was that I won’t get trampled on Black Friday looking for the same gift at that price and I won’t have to stand out in the cold at 1 A.M. waiting in line either. :)

I got one a Walmart - woke my sister up to wait in line with me and it came up to $284 (with her discount card for Walmart - extra hookup)… can’t beat it and worth the trouble!
