Survival Problems: General Motors (GM) and Ford Motor (F)
By: Peter Chubb | November 7, 2008 | 1 CommentFriday, November 7 is when General Motors (GM) and Ford Motor Co. (F) will report their quarterly financial reports, and it will be no surprise to us that both auto giants will reports huge losses. Both GM and Ford are now going through their cash at an alarming rate, which could mean that any one of the two could file for bankruptcy protection.
Either company filing for bankruptcy would be unthinkable, as the survival of the two car giants is key to the American economy. If this were to happen, General Motors or Ford might have to take a trip to the courts, so that they can apply for bankruptcy-court protection, so that they can survive.
Auto sales figures are down across the board in the U.S. and are nearing collapse, knowing this industry and labor heads have been in talks with the federal Bank for a bailout plan, in order to survive.
