Following on from the post about sales figures in Japan for week October 27 to November 2, we want to expand on the popular take-up of the Nintendo DSi. This third iteration of the Nintendo DS handheld sold 171,925 units in Japan for the above week.
That’s a massive take-up and considering it’s not coming to the United States until just before autumn 2009 and UK Spring 2009, it will be some time before we see how much these countries love the new Nintendo DSi. If you have one somehow then leave a comment below.
In the same week the Sony PS3 sold 39,587 units, which is way more than the Xbox 360’s 6,119 units (you can read more on that here).
So what’s good about the Nintendo DSi? It’s about 12% thinner than the NDS Lite, features a power button instead of power switch, has improved speakers and a bigger 3.25-inch screen, a camera on the outside and a 0.3 megapixel VGA camera on the internal hinge.
While a new SDHC card slot is utilized for more storage, the battery life takes a hit thanks to higher power consumption and the front slot for GBA cartridges has been removed. Will you buy a Nintendo DSi when they are available in your country?

No I won’t. When it comes to the united states because I believe its a waste. Don’t get me wrong I am only loyal to nintendo. but I still like to play GBA games and I dont see a point to the camera. I believe it should have more improved wifi compatibility and a little thicker so it won’t break like the original DS hinges. So no I will not buy it.
does it have a zoomfeature in the camera
