Mars PetCare Recall: Pet Care’s Kitty gourmet blend dry cat food

Today we are hearing of a Mars PetCare recall that involves Special Kitty Gourmet Blend dry cat food. This recall comes after the Mars PetCare food tested positive for salmonella.

It’s being reported that the effected food was sold at Wal-Mart stores in these areas: West Virginia, Vermont, Virginia, Rhode Island, Pennsylvania, Ohio, New York, New Jersey, New Hampshire, North Carolina, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Delaware and Connecticut.

The Pet Care recalled products are bags with a production lot code of 50 XXXX X and have a “Best if Used By Date” of August 11, 2009. You should stop feeding your pets right away and dispose of it and make sure it’s in bins with secure lids.
