Barack Obama Projected to Win Presidential Election

Barack Obama is projected to win the presidential election and is now only 70 projected electoral votes away from the magic 270 electoral votes needed to become the United States President.

Obama has now just been projected to take New Mexico, and is very likely to take California, which are another 55 electoral votes. It’s now really obvious who has won the 2008 presidential election.

We expect Democrat Barack Obama to be named the official winner within the next hour or so. Are you happy with the result and the most likely new U.S. President? You can see live results below.
