AT&T launches bandwidth cap trial one month after Comcast

Just last month Comcast had launched a bandwidth cap, now AT&T has done the same. The bandwidth cap is just a trial for AT&T customers in Reno, Nev. The cap limit was quietly launched on November 1; new AT&T high speed Internet customers in Reno will be included in the trail.

If customers exceed 150GB per month, then they will be capped at that level. Once customers take part in the trail, they will have a one-month grace if they exceed that limit for the first time. For every GB that they go over, customers will be charged one dollar.

AT&T will also send a written notice to those who reach 80 percent of their limit, just to remind them that they are about to exceed their limit, and additional charges will apply. Although the trail started on November 1, it was not widely reported until November 4.

I’ve just read that AT&T is going to follow Comcast’s lead of bandwidth capping. They say it’s due to the failing economy. They are calling it a “rate adjustment”. Well, I have my own rate adjustment for them in MY failing economy…it’s called…….CANCEL!!!!! Both internet and phone. I can save money by using a track phone. Talking to your political representatives is a waste of time as they make money off of them. Soooooooo sick of being gouged by these billion dollar entities so I’m fighting back by canceling their services….Comcast cable and AT&T phone and internet. If we’d all stick together we’d have them on their knees begging us to come back but that’s not going to happen. People that have money just don’t care how much it costs. I lived for 47 years without a computer. I can live again another 47 years without one.
