Xbox 360’s Gears of War 2 vs Sony PS3’s Resistance 2

Here we have a video comparison of Gears of War 2 on the Xbox 360 against Resistance 2 on the Sony PS3. The video compares a number of things on the game, from the all important graphics, trailers and the multiplayer aspect of the game.
With Resistance 2 for the Sony PlayStation 3 out today, November 4th, and Gears of War 2 for the Xbox 360 out on November 7th, both games are getting a lot of interest. A number of gamers have said that Resistance 2 offers more content than GoW 2, but there is more to a game than just the content.
PS3 owners will swear by Resistance 2, as Xbox 360 owners will swear by Gears of War 2, the lucky gamers are those who own both consoles, then they will offer an unbiased opinion as to what both games have to offer.

resistance 2 has over 400 + hours of story gameplay to collect all of the stuff
the monster battles and scale is a totally new experience
with an 8 player co - op and seperate storyline, 3 classes and randomized geometry and enemy AI

60 players online 72 maps skirmish mode ( like 15 diffrent objectives in one )
awsome weapons that are used for a purpose
theres so much more and gameplay wise its awsome
so is gears but its not up to the standard gears has horde mode witch looks pretty awsome!
but as the reviews say there are faults in the AI
the executions are pretty awsome but seriously after 2 weeks it will just be a thing like yeah gotta finish him.. boom hes down bla bla..sajme ol’ same old.

well of corse there are alot more 360 fanboys out there ps3 fanboys dont go onto gears site and rate it 0.0 for each thing ( e.g ign ) fags on there just doing it you dont see that on gears sites because we aint as immature..

ya when gears only had 14 reviews up it was at a 97 score. resistance will only go down in score. As for the moron talking about blueray space…your a dumbass. in a majority of games in general the 360 puts out better graphics because of its pc background and ease of programming. sony made bad hardware decisions…its gettin outperformed by a system that came out a year before it. Have fun staying in last place you sony hos. pathetic.

Before I bought my PS3, I played gears of war. I didn’t like it. I played Resistance at my friends house. I liked it. I played Halo, didn’t like it. So when the money came to buy a next-gen system, I figured since I liked the games on this system more, then I’ll buy it. Simple as that.
Does that make GOW a bad game?
No. It was just personal preference.

Jamie…I have being games since Day 1. I remember getting Super Mario on my NES so i think i’m in a good position to comment.
If you can’t actually acknowledge that GOW was something new at the time then you don’t know nothing. How many other games have evolved from the same cover system ? do some research and maybe read some other reviews from other consoles you idiot. Graphics wise, GOW still beats games that are even being produced for 2009.
I’m sure RFOM is a good game, in fact from the reviews i have seen it looks to be a contender for game of the year however if you are going to compare these 2 games then you have to compare the reviewers scores

They both look like excellent games. Obviously I haven’t played them both yet but I have seen lots of gameplay video footage and screenshots, so I will have to go by those.
There are a couple of things which strike me about GOW2. The first is that moving your character around seems a little slow. I am not sure if there is a way to run quicker but all the footage I have seem makes it look like all the armour you are wearing is weighing you down and making movement a bit sluggish. This was something in the first game too, especially if you return to GOW after playing something like COD4. It can feel like you are dragging your feet. The second point is that it looks remarkably like Unreal Tournament 3. I am guessing they are using the same engine but do they really need to make the characters and scenery look so similar? There are parts which make it look like it could almost be a mod for UT3!
I was a big fan of Resistance, mostly because of the online play. Personally I think the whole online package worked very well, including the lobby system and getting the balance between the two races just right. Personally, I cannot wait to try out the 60 player matches in RFoM2. It should be something very special.
Actually the ps3 is in first place for next generation console sales or do u think the wii and 360 really is next gen when the 360 is a repacked xbox without a hdd n upgraded graphics card hahaha u mugs fooled into buying something u thought was next gen,didn`t the old dvds,rrof n no hdd give it away.multi core pc and consoles r the future with blu ray,but idoots use the argument that its easier to programme for the 360 ,yeh cause its old n tested thats why not new then 360 fanboys go round thinking they got next gen tech pmsl
I own a PS3 and love the machine, but honestly Gears of War 1 was better than Resistance fall of man, and Gears 2 will be better than Resistance 2.

anyways i have all 3 systems, i just got resistance 2 yesterday, waited for my wife to fall asleep to play it at 11pm. WOW- what an awesome game! Before i knew it, 3am came. Story mode is intensely insane and extremely fun. Graphics are incredibly superior from the first one. And online - well it’s a different story and makes the game 20x more fun. PS3 owners - ITS A MUST BUY! Xbox 360 owners who cant afford a ps3, why comment? Seriously… you havent played the game. I dont get it.
Nov 7th - I’ll be getting GOW2 regardless, i loved the first one (although i forgot the ending) so it’s a no brainer. Plus halo 3 is the only game i’ve bought for my xbox so i need to expand my library.
GOW2 has amazing graphics but completely different from R2. These two games are different in every aspect, stop comparing and immature boys and men need to stop posting.
