Wal-Mart first for Xbox 360, Sony PS3, Nintendo Wii Game Sales

So where do most gamers go when it comes to buying their favorite video games? It seems that IGN have found the answer to this thanks to a recent study.

Their ‘Are You Game?’ study showed that not only is Wal-Mart the world’s biggest retailer, but it’s also the first place gamers go for their gaming fix. So Xbox 360, Sony PS3, and Nintendo Wii owners please speak up. Do you shop at Wal-Mart first?

While Best Buy and GameStop shared second place in the study, how accurate can these results be with Product Reviews users. From feedback we have had in the past, we find that gamers shop at different places depending on deals, pre-order stock etc.

Some gamers have said that they shop at their favorite place first but then can count on others to have stock more. Guess it depends on the price first of all. Let us know where and how you shop for video games.

Well i work at Target lol. But I hate giving money they pay me back into their bank account haha. I go to Best Buy because I like the feel of their environement. I hate places like Gamestop/Eb Games. I go to Walmart when Best Buy doesnt have the game.

I actually pre order all of my games at Gamestop, never had a problem with them. Best Buy would be my second choice and Toys R Us third. But when it comes to used games, I buy from Amazon or Ebay, never from Gamestop cause they just screw you on used items.

I prefer buying my games at a store where there are somewhat knowledgeable on “Games”. So hence this is why Wal*Mart, Target and etc. are my last places to stop. I always go to Gamestop/EB games first then bestbuy. I hate shopping for anything electronic like at wal-mart, they have no idea what they are doing

I would wager one BIG reason Wal-Mart top is they have so many stores that are 24×7. With so many games having a timed release, where do you go at midnight? The store that is open. BestBuy and GameStop do midnight releases for a few mega-hits, but that is the exception.

I prefer Circuit City. They usually give you a $10 gift card with a pre-order. Also if the game drops in price within 30 days, they will refund the difference + 10%. You can´t beat that.

there is no nintendo wii shortage nowadays, but with the holiday around the corner, the sales will definitely boost.
