Nokia cuts about 600 jobs
By: Daniel Chubb | November 4, 2008 | Leave a CommentSome of the most common news currently is about Technology companies downsizing and saving money from one of the biggest bills, wages.
Today we see in a press release from Nokia that the company is changing parts of its organization, they aim to “strengthen the customer interface” and want to ensure that their resources are “well allocated to meet the business need”.
With money getting tighter in the consumers pocket it seems that “business needs” are going to get less, and this means job cuts. Nokia has estimated that around 450 employees will be affected in their Marketing unit, 130 Nokia Research Center (NRC) employees will also lose their jobs, and 35 employees will go in global process operations.
These changes are happening in many organizations to combat the changing economy. Hit the read link below to get more information on the Nokia changes.
