Mini Projector War: Small Pico Cube and W-1 Projectors
By: Peter Chubb | November 4, 2008 | Leave a CommentOver the next few days there will be two mini projectors launched, the Epoq Multimedia’s Pico Cube projector and the BeamBox W-1 Pocket Projector. With the two mini projectors going head-to-head, we are all set for a war between the two, but which one will come out on top.
So let’s take a closer look and see what the differences are between the two. First up is the Pico Cube, this projector is from Epoq Multimedia and measures just 2.2 x 2.2 x 1.6-inch, about the size of a standard egg. The gadget comes packed with some cool technology, like the LCoS chip. The projector projects a VGA resolution. It has an 80:1 contrast ratio and 10 ANSI brightness
The BeamBox Pocket Projector, which most of us know as the W-1 is almost the same as the Pico Cube in dimension and features. This mini projector weighs in at just 190 grams; we are not sure how much the Pico Cube weighs. The Pico Cube costs $299 and will be available online starting mid-November. The W-1 will be cost $350 and will be available on November 10th.
