FCC Not Changing Cell Phone Fees

The chairmen of the FCC (Federal Communications Commission) have decided not to go ahead with a controversial proposal on cell phone charges. There was to be an overhaul as to how telephones companies pay each other when they have to connect calls.
The controversial plan met with a strong resistance from the chairman’s fellow commissioners. The proposal was all up for a vote today, but has been criticized by lawmakers as well as the all important consumers.
If the plan would have been passed, it would have meant that home phone fees could have increased as much as $1.50 extra per month. Another commissioner from the FCC said that the proposal needs a further review.
