Far Cry 2 freezes on Xbox 360

It has happened to me and is annoying, especially since the save system is only available when you find special locations or complete a mission.

It locks up on me everytime I try the mission that says to intimidate the informant at the villa into sending the false coordinates. When I get to the informant, he puts up his hands and when I approach him I get the hand symbol with a “Y” in order to interact with him and when I press “Y” on my controller, the system locks up. The only thing I can do is to reboot the system. I have tried 4 times to get pass this and it locks up every time and at the same place every time. Ubisoft needs to get over their pride and acknowledge that they have a problem!!!

Everytime i kill Kouassi and drive to the next part of of the game it says that the game cannot be read or the disc is dirty. this has happened to me 7 times now.

FarCry 2 Freezing, While playing a mission where i had to either get documents to blackmail some polotical leader, or just assisante the polotical leader.. I choosed to retriveve the documents.. When i went to the specific location, i approached the VIP who carried the documents, i pressed Y to enter a conversation witht he guy, and he didnt say shlt. He just stood there and thats it.. It lasted as long as i left on my xbox… which i turned off 15 minz after the bs… To me, being 24 years old and working hard for my money, this really disaapointed me. FarCry 2 was to be a important game changing the way FPS are to be in the future… THe beatufill thing about the game… I can leave my jeep anywhere in the FarCry 2 world, and it will remain there… NO POP IN POP OUT in FArCry2 which makes this game above a 9.4 rating … WOOOO XboxTAG FLORIDA THUG305..

I’m a victim of the lockup issue aswell. I’ve sent an e-mail to Ubisoft’s website, but nothing. What’s most frustrating is that i have invested quite a bit of time into the game at 73% completion. I really do like the gme, but my motivation to start over is lost. This is unforgiveable and should be rectified by a patch or some other method. I hope they fix it – otherwise the game is getting traded in.

Just happened to me, damn thing froze at 62%, I assumed the machine just needed rebooting, but all to no avail, it will even begin a new game from scratch, but it won’t load a saved game so i can continue

If Ubisoft don’t fix it they will be losing customers for life

Seems its not just the 360 that has this, just got hit by this problem today on my PS3 although I havent read about it on PS3 yet, only 360.

Certainly cant be buggered to redo 25 hours of play, opefully Ubisoft will do a patch, minor bugs I can handle but this has pissed me right off.

i got to 92% on infamous and it froze and i was unable to load it so i started a new game on normal and it got to 62%and done the same thing, i’m so pissed, this has got to be fixed.

This is a real disgrace, and a real lack of disregard for its customers demonstrated by ubisoft, and they must not be allowed to get away with it. I parted with my hard earned cash and bought this game only for it to be freezing after 4 per cent completion. I have restarded the game so many times, and get the same problem, and i am now glad to say i simply threw the game in the bin, as to me that is the only suitable place for it. I ask all people here to think of ways to petition ubisoft and let them know what they are doing is daylight robbery.

Game locks up after 5 minutes of play, it doesn’t matter how many times I re-boot the 360. Keeps locking up. What a waste of money, be nice if Ubisoft would create a hot fix for it.

I got to 62% and got the corrupt save file bug and contacted ubisoft and they tried to make out it was a dirty disc or problem with my xbox. So obviously they know about this problem but are pretending it doesnt exist by blaming it on the customers.
I tried returning the game for a refund but had no luck with that, im now stuck with a completely useless unplayable game and theres nothing i can do about it.
Surely there is someone we can report this to because this is surely against trading standard rules as customers should be entitled to a refund if they are are not happy with the product

I have two issues. First off I haven’t been able to play multiplayer since I bought it home pre-ordered from Gamestop. The Disc says dirty and needs to cleaned. It’s spotless!

Second, I just completed the last mission to unlock more weapons and was prompted to save and continue. so I did, died right after and now I can’t load the game. I’m at 73%.

If it information is useful, I had the game saved on the memory card, and moved it to the harddrive to see if that would help, and it actually frooze quicker than before. So then after a reboot and copy back to the memory card it fails agian at the same loading screen with a few animations of the circle.

Also I’m running the newest update for the xbox, NXE,

it starts after i go into the city to get a new mission, there is a problem getting through the door, after i get my next mission and leave the building no carried weapons will work and cannot crouch.
boat weapons work ……….

I also get stuck when i have to intimidate the informant-
Im on PC so not just the console versions… God this is annoying it seemed like a great game :/

Farcry 2 on xbox 360 is also freezing for us. My son has played twice today at different times and its freezed at different points. He’s now given up and gone back to playing Halo 3. Ubisoft,.. this is a great game, for Pete’s sake, fix the bugs!!!!
We want to keep playing it and having to turn off the xbox at the button each time when its frozen cant be good for it long term.!!!

Hi, same for me, Farcry 2 on Xbox 360, I have 67% and finish, nothing anymore.

Yeah just happened to me today. Will not load any of my saved games. Just locks up while trying to.

I cant believe they wont fix the bug im at 69% and can no longer play due to the game freezing and not loading somebody has to try to contact them i cant find a way to even email them

8% and now i can not save any new games. So i guess i have to start over again? Well, i bring it back to the store and buy a nice other game. No Ubisoft one.

This has been happening to me but some of my saved games work. Just not the most recent one. Instead of trying to load the most recent save point, I have to pray that the one prior to it works. Usually it does. I’m at 84% completion but i have to keep going back to 81% because of corrupt game saves. This is by far one of the most annoying video game glitches I’ve encountered. At first I thought it was due to the recent Xbox Experience update because that’s when it started happening for me. Apparently that’s not the case though. I’m at a point where I’m ready to break the disc in half and go buy a game that doesn’t corrupt all of my hard work (54 hours, give or take). I wish Ubisoft would at least acknowledge this problem. Obviously it’s not some isolated problem. It needs to be addressed. Seriously, if it screws up the 84% ratio that I’ve put in, I’m really going to be irritated.

Same for me, I wish a patch or something would be released to fix it. Sometimes sometimes if I save the game, the file will work or it won’t. So I have to save it a million times so if something goes wrong, I have to hope one of them work and if one works, I can only hope it’s close to where I stopped or was killed so I won’t have to backstrack too far. It made trying to play to the ending really annoying and made the game feel even more unfinished than it is. I am very dissapointed with this game and am dissapointed they haven’t released a patch to fix it. I doubt I’ll ever buy another game developed by havok again. This game was definately a rush.

got to 65% and mine froze on xbox360. Tried several ways to get it to unfreeze. no luck. The game is great. Just need the bug fixed.

Ubisoft finally responded to my question about Farcry 2 freezing. Here’s what they wrote….

“1. Make sure all of your appropriate connections are functioning (Power cables and AV cables are all fully attached)

2. Make sure your game disc is free of dust and/or scratches. To clean the disc:

*Hold the disc by the edges without touching the surface with your fingers.
*Clean the disc with a soft cloth, lightly wiping from the center outwards.
*Do not use solvents or chemicals to clean the disc.
*Try to play the game again.

3. Try changing the video mode for the graphics on the xbox360. Try loading the xbox360 without the disk. Then from the tabs goto the “System” tab –> “Console Settings” –> “Display” –> “Screen format”. Change this over to normal mode for me then try the game again.

4. Make sure the Time Setting on your Xbox360 is set to today’s date.

5. Remove all unnecessary peripherals, and then test to see whether the problem still occurs.

6. Try clearing out the xbox360 cache folder on the hard drive. To do this turn on the xbox360 without the game inside to load the dashboard. From here make sure your controller is working and you can move around the menu. Place in the game disk and hold down the A button. Keep this button held until the game starts to load up past the intro screen.

7. If you have internet access, we suggest logging onto the internet to see if there is any patches or updates for the game. It will appear on screen if there is an update for the game when you connect online.

8. If your using a normal TV, try changing the PAL settings. Try loading the xbox360 without the disk. Then from the tabs goto the “System” tab –> “Console Settings” –> “Display” –> “PAL settings”. Change this over from the current PAL setting to the other setting in use.

If you are using a HD TV then please make sure that you have the settings set to 720p instead of 1080i.

Now try again.

Not sure how anyone will go, ours has been doing ok, if we save often. My first guess would be to clear out the cache. And wait for a patch. Good Luck.

My game has done the same thing. It has frozen up at 69%, I was on my way from the Helicopter Crash Site to the bridge to blow up the weapons barge. The game froze when I was playing it. I just turned it off figuring I’d play later. When I went back to re-load the game tonight it would just keep freezing up on load.

Thanks to Bianca for posting the response from Ubisoft. I’ll have to try some of those to see if they help. I’m a little disturbed by that last option though..

So that means that Ubisoft created a game for the Xbox that is designed with HDTV output, but they didn’t bother to make the game capable of playing at the highest definition??? That’s sort of sad.

Hope people post up soon about whether any of these suggestions worked. I’m too pissed tonight to bother trying.

I have suffered lockups on my 360 when trying to load saved games, at first I though it was my HDD giving problems, switched to using a memory card which appeared to be OK for a while but then started doing the same thing. It does not appear to be all of the saves as I am able to go back to a previous save, which once I find one that loads, always seems to work. The problem is, even if you save regularly, (well as regularly as you can with the save system!) you dont know which of the saves are going to work.

I have had this problem since about 55%, but I have managed to get to 84% by reloading previous saves and then some very frustrating repeating gameplay. I have invested 74 hours of play in this game and am very dissapointed that after getting this far these types of issues are now occurring.

Has anyone tried clearing out the xbox360 cache folder on the hard drive (posted by Bianca above), and if so did it have any effect?

Come on Ubisoft, respect your customers, because after all we are the ones that keep you in business. Admit there is an issue and fix it!!

This happened to me yesturday at about 65-69%. I saved at a point after killing a VIP, then died later on. When I loaded up the save, the loading circle freezes at about the 10′o clock position on the first spin, which it does every time now. Im going to try some of the things Ubi told Bianca, if that doesnt work I will wait for a patch, and if that never comes, I will play FC2 strictly for multiplayer. ( i dont have a choice)

This is Bryan again. I tried a couple of the things on the list and it still didn’t allow my latest save to work. I tried clearing the cache and then changing my video settings to 720p.

I didn’t clean the disc because looking at it revealed no dirt that could be visible, I had taken it straight from the case to the xbox and it hadn’t left the xbox while I was playing up to the 69% that I made it to.

I have no unnecessary peripherals and I am already hooked up to the internet and have had two game patches download for Far Cry.

I guess I’m shelving the game until I either go back and decide to replay from my last save (~14 hours of play earlier) or try replaying it all together. When I do that I’ll try to set it at 720p and maybe it’ll work.

Maybe someone else will have better luck.

im having such WORSE issues than everyone!!!! SOOOOO ANGRYYY!!!!! ARRGGG so, i first bought the game, brand new, and would not even load to main menu… most the time said “please insert disk into a xbox 360 console”… what does that mean? implying i did not insert disk into a 360 WTF??!! im pretty sure its a 360… im gona kill someone… after many tries it randomly works, then freezes in map editor.. after playing campaign for 30 min.. anyway i bring game back and get another new copy. does the exact same thing. cant even play it half the time. it just doesnt even load on my 360.. like 1 in 10 tries it might work.. i dont even get to play campaign… bs. i think im gona by a ps3, xbox has cause me soooo many problems.

Just froze up for me. I don’t know if this is related but I was given the option to save after a bus ride, said ok, selected the same save I had always used then decided at the are you sue you want to overwrite screen to cancel out of the save. A few minutes later I decided to reload and blam. Froze up. Definetly seems like the save got corrupt and the only thing I did was yes save – pick file – say ok then cancel when the overwrite option came up. Makes me think that they start to save to the file before you allow the override so if you cancel the save it gets screwed.

I recently started playing the game again after a break for a month or so and now my copy is freezing regularly within about 5-10 minutes of game play. I am able to load my prior saves but it just keeps freezing. I am at 8% completion.

I know my game disc is clean and I haven’t changed any settings on my XBOX 360 from before so I don’t see how it can be anything but a defective disc, especially in light of the number of other gamers reporting the same freezing issue.

im at around 62%. i went back to the north region to just kinda screw around and blow stuff up after i had already completed it, everything saved fine. Then when i went to load it the next day it freezes right on the loading screen. my friend had started another profile so i tried to load that one and it loaded fine, i can even start new games and play multiplayer but it makes me wonder if the game will keep freezing everytime i get to 62% completion, this is on a 360 by the way.

Same here! I had happened to have two loads on 62%, I got to 73% ,locked up, Started the other on and it locked up half way through a mission still at 62%.

just found out i can NEVER play online on xbox. ever. brand new xbox. brand new game. i can play campaign so far for about 30 min then freezes. i cant play onlien at all or use map editor for more than 2 min……………. what should i do??????????

“This upcoming update will follow Far Cry 2′s 1.01 patch. Version 1.01 of Far Cry 2 fixed a number of bugs that included crashes, balancing issues, and more.”

Hopefully this will solve all our problems.

oh, forgot to mention how they said it will be out between december 8 and 11.

Anyone have the save file get corrupted at 94% complete???? This sucks.

not had any freezing issues but after completeing the first mission in the southern district i now can’t find any buddies or missions to do at all, this is just after i’ve dropped off a load of guns at the docks and been to see the doctor. anybody else had a similar problem??

Same problem. My last save was this morning at 65% completion. I’ve continued and made several saves since then. Everything appears to run fine. I get prompted the game was saved succesfully, but when I return to the load menu this mentioned save is the most current one. The ones saved later have strangly disapeared.

So there’s a patch coming somewhere between the 8th and the 11th http://boards.ign.com/far_cry/b5731/174445963/p1/?9 TnX Kevin. Do you get prompted when it is there, or do you have to do something to get it?

My Xbox 360 save froze at 54% completion. Tried loading earlier saves but now have the same problem. This, coupled with the fact I have experienced glitches in the achievements list is enough to make me forget about this disgrace of a game and focus my time and efforts on games that actually work.

I’m glad to see I’m not alone but angry all the same. 8% completed and can’t get any further. The game keeps taking me back to the mission where I have to retrieve the documents from the compound despite having numerous saves after that mission was completed. Ubisoft are an absolute disgrace.

I cannot save my game at all. None of the safe houses work anymore. The last successful save is near the beginning where you set out to destroy the commandos equipment, so Act 1 4%.

I’ve completed that mission successfully and saved the game in a new save slot but when I go to load or die, it completely ignores that, and ignores all other saves made at new safe houses. It ignored the save you get after you intimidate the guy with the machete too.

I’m hoping this is fixable because the game may have some potential.

Actually, I’ve realised that my clock wasn’t set correctly on my console. This resulted in my latest saves being slotted in randomly dpwn the list. For example a later was not at the top of the list but somewhere else.. but if I died, it’d automatically choose the save at the top of the list, arg! I’ll see if the clock setting removes this problem

well i got a corrupted save point at 54% but had done a new slot save just before, so I went back and redid the mission and it worked fine, until 69% and it kept locking up and now I cant get it to load my last save point..

I thought the issue was with my xbox as I moved it between rooms and put it on its side for the first time, so I just removed all the cables and set it up on its end to see if it was overheating or something to just read this about the actual game being screwed..

Not at all happy now, dont think ill bother completing it as got fallout 3 and dead space to play.

I bought farcry2 on xbox360 about a month and a half ago. The save files froze @ 70% so i brought it back to the store and got another copy and sure enough after playing through 62% of the game. the save files froze. It is appaling that they let this massive glitch stand. And not even a word from ubisoft on the matter. What a waste of time and money. Its such a shame because it was an awesome game. But i do NOT recommend that xbox360 users buy it.

My game freezes whenever I try loading. I’m at 92%

Froze on the Load screen in and around 60% completed–it won’t even allow me to start a new game.
Hopefully this patch will sort things out–I was having a great time up until now.

After my comment earlier today, I carried on trying to play it.

The problem seemed to be that it was always the latest save point that got corrupted, so I started using 2 saves and would go back and forth between them…. then when it did crash I went back to the 2nd one and it seemed to be fine.

Completed the game now, and was pretty dissapointed with it overall, the crashing problem really took the fun out of it.

I contacted Ubisoft again about a patch for the xbox as they’ve brought one out for the PC. This was their response…

We have been notified that a patch will be released for the XBOX 360, but we have no date at this point in time.

One thing I think may be an issue is that this save took place under unique circumstances, not at a typical save point, as I had just killed an APR official at his office, gotten an achievement and a cell phone call all at once basically and got the prompt to save right at that point, and then died in the streets right after that while attempting to flee the cease fire area. Hopefully the patch fixes this, this is BY FAR the most frustrating game glitch I have experienced, IT IS BRUTAL!!!! Mine froze at 92% complete on infamous (360). Ive battled with this game freezing up at save points since about 54% completion. I\’m upto 73% completion now, just keep having to do regular saves, and backtrack for upto 45 minutes gameplay and keep my fingers crossed that the next save works. I\’ve finally reached a point where I can no longer be bothered replaying parts over and over again. Hoping a patch will be released shortly to solve the problem. Going to just shelve the game for now. If ubisoft don\’t come up with a patch, they can go Sc*@w themselves, I\’ll never buy one of their games again, which is a real shame, cos they were one of my favourite game developers.

errrrrrrrrrrrrrrr everyones all, ” o it freezes at like 78%” blah blah BE A LITTLE GREATFULL!! because i cant even PLAY ONLINE AT ALL and im a 8% and since i bought the game NEW it work for me less than half the time…. imagine how i feel. NOT KIDDING around every 1 in 10 times i put it in my new xbox…. NOPE.. it says it cannot read…. i have similar save bug on my pc , it loads wrong save ‘s or just dont save at all(after 10 % completing), The funny thing is that it loads what it whants hahaha, or just the saves keep disappear!

I ran into the freeze up on the first mission at the part where you intimidate the informant. I am playing the PC version, on Xianyong, in Hardcore difficulty. On the first time around, I played as Marty, on Infamous, and did NOT run into this freeze. I got around the problem by loading a save right outside the informant’s door, pulling my knife out, and interacting with him as soon as I was able to, resulting in the knife to the throat playing properly, but leaving him frozen. The dialogue does not play, and he takes a seat about a foot away from where his chair is, but your objective will be complete.

Mine has frozen at 65%. I was really enjoying this game too, surely Ubisoft have to fix this??

My 68% saved file freezes everytime I tried to load it. Horse SH!T.

my last saved games wont load, the screen just freezes when loading, im fuming! its happened twice now, the last time i even saved twice, once on hard drive and once on memory unit but both freeze, previous saves will load but the last saved game always fails! i really cant be bothered to play the last few % yet again because if i do it will only screw up again, what a con!

playing farcry2 on ps3, crashed and froze at 81% complete, just when you have to meet reuben at the marina. the area was supposed to be hostile as you approach but it was empty. no bad guys, but a red objective marker in the bar, denoting reuben, but no way to get in as the door will not open. tried numerous reboots, new saves, journeys to different areas of the map, all to no avail! ubisoft please fix this, any chance of an 81% gamesave with all weapons and upgrades!

I actully thought FC2 was the game that would redeam ubisoft and make up for all the awful Clancy games. However, as I found out, and as apparently, thousands of other gamers have found out, FC2 freezes at the load screen after you have compleated a certain % of the game in single player on every single disk. This wouldnt be an issue if ubisoft were to maybe re-release a version of the game that was not tainted with this bug however, the problem is, the arrogant techno dorks at ubisoft refuse to even acknowledge that this problem exists. This is a travisty! FC2 is better than Gears of War 2, probably better than Dead Space and is sure as shit better than Fall Out 3!! It takes the fps to a whole new glorious level, but then freezes up for no known reason?? Makes people want to pull their hair out of their head!! If you A****** refuse to acknowledge this problem, you will very likely see your market share shrink because it was a very popular game. I have brought mine back several times and then for the last time. I traded it for Fall out 3 which is a bit like trading a Corvette for a fucking Toyota Pris!! You cant make gamers like me in the numers we are and expect that we will continue to blindly pre-order your big title games! The ball is in your court. PIE HEADS!!

I am at 73% and whenever I try to load either of my save games it crashes,this happened this morning. I’ve just tried it about 6-7 times loading different files or loading from the option instead of just continue. No change, it always freezes, I cant even bring up my xbox360 guide. This is very frustrating.

Yeah I’m getting that lockup on load as well. I read online somewhere, can’t remember where, that saving twice in a row on 2 seperate save game files will get around the corrupt save game thing. Seems to have worked for me so far. Notice a few other glitches around the game as well, nothing as annoying or frustrating as corrupt save games though.

Strange thing is my bro has finished the game using the same disc no problems. I got my first lockup after updating to NXE dash. My bro finished the game before NXE was released. NXE might be part of the problem maybe?

All in all an awesome game but I have suggested friends and peeps I see at EB not buy it because of this problem. Ya hear that Ubisoft? I’m boycotting ya game until you fix it!

I had actually considered doing that. I did, when I contacted them about the problem, include a link to this page. Apparently when they’ve finished the PC patch, they’re doing the other consoles, so they’re aware of the problem, just taking a while to produce the solution! I’ve held off playing Farcry until the patch is out.

the game crashes randomly between 5 and 30 mins both online in multiplayer and single player mode and is really narking me!!
i cant be bothered to load it up all the time but iv got to if i dont wana waste my £40
the errors that come up is telling me ‘unable to read the disc clean it with a soft cloth’ etc but the disc is 100% spotless and prone to crashing on mine and 2 other xbox’s

i had the exact same problem. My single player game froze at 62% completion. i am very upset with ubisoft for releasing faulty products

I was on here in the beginning of December. I had a game that froze up at 66%. After that happened I got up to level 10 in multiplayer. fun fun I geuss. A while later I decided to start a new character. Made my way up through the campaign pretty quickly. My idea was to make it to around 60% and then save on another file so I had a place to come back to if I experienced the problem again. I decided that I would make this alternate save game the moment after I unlocked all of the weapons from the convoy missions. As divine providence would have it, I was at 54% at the time that I completed all the convoy missions. I died, loaded, and BAM…got a bad sinking feeling in my stomach. IT happened. AGAIN! I now see from more recent comments that it can happen at 54% as well. Awesome news.

Yes!!! Another sucker here who’s spent their hard earned money on a game with serious problems by a company which wants to take your money, doesn’t care about the product being faulty. FC2 froze on me at 50% (xbox360) a few weeks back, my fiancee bought it me along with a new hdmi xbox 360 so I have two xbox’s. When it first crashed I thought it was the 360 but after trying FC2 on both the old/new and several freinds 360′s it still won’t load, so I assumed it was the disc and spent a lot of time stressfully arguing with game to have it swapped but like all companys once they have got your money they don’t want to know. This isn’t the first time this has happened, it happened with Oblivion, which did the same thing just after I’d gone and bought all the expansion packs, but Oblivion was a huge game and there was bound to be some glitches, but just like FC3 they refused to acknowledge them and replied with the same email (as stated in an above post) of a check list of things to do. Well they didn’t work for Oblivion and again doing everything they advise has done nothing for FC2. I really liked FC2 and after putting in many hours and doing all the checks I decided I would spend some more hard earned cash on a new copy (that’s nearly £70!) so new disc, new xbox all checks, advice followed, Result……….two FC2 game discs sitting there with the ubisoft title shouting YOU SUCKER! thats twice we’ve got your money and the fault isn’t ours, it’s your brand new 360, your spare 360 and all your friends 360′s, your HDTV…etc…..
The thing is if game companys are pushing the boundaries of the xbox (or any platform) in search of making the best game they can, there are bound to be unforeseen glitches, but rather than being a professional, responsible, caring company and repairing problems they prefer to deny there are any problems at all and blame everything but their game. They are in breach of the trading laws as they are clearly selling a faulty product, the problem is they know that the law requires that faulty products must be replaced within a fixed period and the well paid game writers know that their problematic games won’t start being problematic until this period has expired. Like Oblivion I should be fuming with anger and though part of me is (after being robbed of £70) I am mostly disappointed and disgusted with the the way they treat their customers is shamefully low. I was going to buy COD 5 world at war but chose FC2 (twice) now I wish I hadn’t, absolutely disgraceful!!

i have contacted Ubisoft Support and asked them if they were aware of the bug with saves corrupting and game freezes with Far Cry 2 on Xbox 360. They said they were aware of the problem but were not able to say when an update would be ready. It’s been a month and since then i have seen a patch for PC but not Xbox 360. It does seem they are seriously not trying to resolve this issue.

Yeh its still going on, 62% again. On an auto save it froze on the saving screne – what the hell!! “Please don’t turn off your console” well im not gunna leave it on indefinatly – Oi ubi’ What The Fook??!!

I have the same problem as you guys it played it for 5 minutes when i got it FREEZE !!! so ejected disc reset console and started again after about 40 or so minutes FREEZE !!! left it for a couple of days, then today i tried to get to some bar for traeatment for the malaria freeze and when i ejected the disk i have now got a big circle engraved in the disk !!! Utter Bollocks !!!

To say that i’m annoyed is a little undertating it i’m bloody fuming.

I have not been down to gamestation yet but i’m pretty sure they wont take the game back.

I bought Far Cry 2 about a week ago and have been well hooked on it.

BUT

at 65% of my way through the campaign it wont load my game properly. I’ve got it for the Xbox 360 and was wondering if there was anything I could do about it.

This bug seems to have some relation to the percentage of the game completed. I’m at 65% completion and I am experiencing the the hard lock when I either select Continue, Load Game or Load Game after starting a New Game (i.e., loading the game with 65% completion). At first I thought it might somehow pertain to the location that I had saved the game (I had saved in one HQ’s which I don’t normally do), but after seeing other people experiencing this problem at around 65%, it seems that’s more likely somehow connected. Unfortunately, workarounds wouldn’t be an option. Ubisoft will have to issue a patch to fix this. As someone who tests games for a living, the only thing anyone can do now is start a new game and hope the issue is a low frequency bug and won’t occur again.

The only ‘fix’ to this problem is to load an earlier save. At least that worked for me.

I too have the game freezing–first I thought it was the disc but I went and rented another so I could finish the game–but to no avail–it too froze–HELP

Ok tried to make a comment before but this site had a glitch yea I have tried to play Farcry 2 and so has my stepson and it FREEZES it’s C***** beyond belief costs loads and what do you get, have emailed Ubisoft in both UK and USA with all above comments attached and hope to get something for us all and yea a Patch would be a start. I just started playing and it froze at 4%. Luckily, i had just saved it.

Im about 75 percent through the game and my buddy dies, so i go back to try to reload mylast save so I can try o save him again and it freezes while doing the loading circle. his wouldn’t be too much of a problem except for the fact that the save game locations are few and far between. I now have to load the save before that which is a good 45 minutes before my most current save. The save feature is already broken due to the horrbile system already inplace and this bug just makes it worse. It’s a great game but this just ticks me off.

In addition to my above comment my game also froze while saving around 25 percent through the game. Luckily it didn\’t corrupt my save files it just didn\’t save. Again I had to load an earlier svae file that was a good hour or so before. Hopefully an update will fix this AND alow saving at any time using the start menu. That would be so nice.

Hello, I’ve read through most of these comments implying that their xbox’s freezes between either 60-70 percent or 4-8 percent. (My progres is 4%)

Have anyone encounterd the problem with the game not starting up, at all?
When you put the disc in the tray, a message almost (after trying to load the game) instantly pops up claiming that the disc is dirty and has to be cleaned… restart your console and so forth…

So I tried to install the game to the Xbox 360 hardrive… at first attempt it got to 24 %, and on the second one 24% aswell… and so forth…

My disc is spotless(well not dirty nor scratchy) so I thought the xbox 360 might be the issue (I got mine 2005 prior to christmas, have return it once because of the Red rings) so I might consider handing it in, but that is totaly wrong, right? Is it the disc that is defect?

And if there ever will be a patch available for download, how am I supposed to download it If I can’t run/start up the game?

That sounds to me like a disk or drive problem, even tho the disk looks spotless there could be a blemish or tiny scratch that can barely be seen or it could be your laser in your dvd drive but if its only happening on this one game i would recommend returning the game for an exchange if you can.. the fact that its failing to install to the hard drive at the same exact point would point to there being a problem with the disk.

I experienced the same problem myself when playing on xbox 360. It seems that the problem is experienced only in the middle of a main mission, when you accept a buddy’s blue objective.
What i recommend to do is when you arrive at the safe house to get the blue mission to save there and then that save should work (safe save). But if you save anytime in the middle of that mission you will not be able to load it if you die or want to load because your buddy dies. That was the case for me. If you kill ur buddy by mistake or he/she dies or if you save him then you will be able to continue.

wow. I too…. am having massive problems…. since about 50%? the game randomly freezes while I’m driving or sprinting…

I also lost game saves (they were simply not loading) , and I went back from 54% to a 20% completion save that worked… and played all the way back to 56%….then I tried saving by overwriting on all of my oldest saves (by the way..I keep hearing that , on one hand, you need to begin new saves every time you want to save…. while others say you cannot ‘overtax’ the memory ; ie. that you MUST overwrite. which one is it?)

long story short? I’m now at 72%..and nothing will load.

my last load had purple (alien-looking ) trees all over the place.. . and now it always freezes – about 15 seconds into the gameplay.

Ubi- patch this, now!

an update to my last post;

I went to my local gaming store to exchange/swap my Far Cry 2 xbox 360 copy for another one, but the shop assistant claimed that the cause was not the CD being defect, but that it had “Machine” scrathces on it. So he went on and cleaned it for me (when they scratch of the top layer of CD or something) and when I got it back it works just fine. Iam at 14 % atm and havent had a single issue so far… so maybe that problem is that the Far Cry 2 CD’s are really sensitive when you play them in your xbox?

Seems unrealistic that all these problems are caused by scratches on the CD.
When (if ever ) we get a real patch for it, I think it will be fixed. If not: Ubi have really shit themselves in the face.

Myself I have gotten through the game. I had some loading problems at 92% and I had to load a previous save (previous mission).

my disc is in 200% , seriously MINT-looking shape. no fingerprints.. no scuffs….it’s like gazing into a new mirror …..therefore… and also considering all of the posts here(and everywhere,on the web!)

the majority of far cry 2′s problems obviously stem from the game itself.

Far Cry 2 just started locking up on me in the high 60s completion range. If I load the save previous to the most recent it loads ok. But all the work in between the two is obviously lost… I still love the game, but it’d be nice if Ubisoft would own up to it. Kind of makes you think less of them as a company….

I am 81% complete on my way 2 stefapane nd got killed….when i loaded the last save the game has just blanked (not frozen) all other people are moving around and acting as normal but i have no missions or objectives and the story was just reaching the climax very annoying….has anyone had the same problem and know how 2 sort it out?

I have a brand spanking new xbox 360 and brand spanking new copy of far cry 2.
the 2cnd time i put the disc in i got \”an unable to read disc error,clean it with a cloth blah blah blah\” ive been playing it on and off for about 5 days,im about 15% through then yesterday i got the \”unable to read disc error\” 3 times in a row,the machine and disc are brand new so no scratches or anything ( plus i take care of my stuff anyway) i also have about 28 other games that all work fine!

so it must be Ubisoft! ………if so thats realy wrong to try and lie saying there isnt a problem,its not just coincidence that everyones far cry 2 is doing the same thing!

well…. after weeks of endless troubles and insane glitches / freeze ups / replaying the game from 20% (after losing a 64% save to freezing)….I can say with confidence….

the ending of FC2 was uneventful and weak(!) , ‘climax / action-wise’.

Wow. way more adrenalin attained from the repetitive side missions.

this game had so much potential. all the freezing(OMG- constant for me! I must have had to turn off and back on my 360.. like 100 times- no exaggeration!)

the bugginess of this game (which comes off as hateful, it’s so blatant), coupled with the endless driving…….

what a shame. the action in this game could really hit fever pitch, at times.

so…yeah. managed to finish the game…. but… with extreme frustration and unreasonable, added time.

also… I realized (pre-order game code) that I had neglected to type in my ‘bonus missions’ code from the pre-order gamestop edition.

I typed them in (at extra content / promotional content)…around 86% completion.

guess you have to put the code in before you play the entire game…for those missions to show up.

After doing the first mission in area 2 I am left with no missions to do. Now I’m just wandering around aimlessly.

It just happened to me when i was on 62%. Luckily i saved another profile but that was about a week ago. It’s now happened to every one of my mates who have the game. It’s a little frustrating to say the least.

I bought Farcry 2 brand new on saturday, played it for only 30mins and it froze. I thought my xbox had died again. But it see other people have had same thing happen. I am now saving it every 30 mins, I know its a lot of extra driving but saves a bit of anoyance. So the problem is not scratches or console. Such a good game though.

So yes, it has happened. Screw this GAME AND THE MAKERS!!!!!!!!! I was at 92 freakin %!!!!! There is no way in hell im even going to think about playing it over! Far cry 2, I can’t tell you all how much I was looking forward to it! I loved the first game on my Xbox, I think I was responsible for making at least half of my friends buy it! I had my money in my hand on the day of release and skipped in to game station happy as larry picking up my copy of FC2 knowing that I had the whole day to devote to it. about a week in (34%….I was doing every side mission, collecting every suite case I could find etc) my friend told me some people were having problems…I thought nothing of this as I have played (and loved) many ubisoft titles and never had a problem; any hoo, at 64% in (about 139 cases, all guard posts done and 90% of the safe houses found!) I had just completed the next main mission when the save option popped up, happily I saved expecting a few more % to be added when it all went pete tong……..one of my ‘buddies’ was in need of help and no matter how many times i tried to save them (I only had 2 shots of the good stuff, but it let me inject them at least 7 times!) they died in my arms! I thought this must be the glitch, so turned my xbox off and restarted. The main screen loaded up but when I tried to continue/load my game the whole thing froze! After a number of attempts and a lot of bad (BAD) words i gave up………….to sum up, the Ubisoft staff responsible should be lead out into a desert give a rusty AK47, one mag of ammo each, and given a choice….take your own lives or each others………….from one unhappy punter, gamer tag; Spoonflip

Well i have they joy of ubisoft in my heart once again! My son bought me FarCry 2 for x mas and i would really like to spend time playing the game instead of trying to get it to load all day!!! WTF i cant belive that this is allowed out on the shelves to be sold! I know its the game to because i went out and bought a new system just make sure it wasnt my fault.New xbox 360 console new game and new aggravation,I would really like to get something started against ubisoft if indeed there are really a lot of people thAT ARE HAVEING THE SAME FREZZE UP WITH THIS GAME!

One more thing, I have been playing this stupid game for 10 hrs a day every day the first week i got the game and i had so many saves on my hard drive i needed to free up some room i new the game was buggy when i would save a game and when you start up again it wasnt were you stored it! I eventuaqly started to save on my mem card and only then was i able to go to the part of the game i was at!! I dont how many times i started over and over again until i figured the game was screwed up with the software.They have to know this friggen game has massive problems. for the amount of money one spends on a game you should be at least able to play the freakin thing.i guess its back to RB6V2 for me! screw farcry2!

Last week the game freezd at 73% but after multipel reboot and the hold A button on startup trick another save game worked! so i had te replay just half an hour

Yeah, same thing happened to me… I was at 54% complete with about 2/3 of the diamonds and the game froze repeatedly loading my last save. HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT.

I was LOVING this game. It was the most fun and engrossing FPS I\’ve ever played… Sniper rifle and flame-thrower = YES!!!!

Mine does not even work. I put the disc in and it keeps saying ‘reading’ and the says ‘open try’ and it will not work.

I have noticed a lot of peeps posting about disc errors on here! the main problem with this game is the freeze when loading or saves if you can find the last save that is!!! If your haveing a can not read message or disc dirty ,or open tray its not the game its your xbox dvd player is screwed or on its way out… i have been saveing my game on the third spot on the list and then manualy going to this save when it screws up.just try to remember what percent you were at and then try from those saves. it doesnt make sense that it would store your progress on a random spot on the disc????WTF ubisoft has got to get on the ball before they loose a lot of customers…… I have done some research on this and found out that the knew they had a problem and it started with the PC version and they still let the game go out the door with a handfull of problems.so iguess it speaks for itself Money before a happy customer!!!! this is gonna bite them in the ass we all need to post on there forums and be heard.. youtube wouldnt hurt either! cmon peeps post it everywere you know!!!!!

This is really annoying. My farcry 2 Cd for 360 is bran new and it freezes every 10 minutes after i restart farcry. I going to try and contact ubisoft. Im really pissed

this last gent is correct. the major issues ( that seen to be ubiquitous ) are of the game freezing during loading.. or… game saves not even loading..

I replayed the damn thing 3 times! from 20-ish something percent.. until I somehow…. managed to ‘squeak it by’ to the games LAME-O climax.

yeah. I’m angry. this game had “moments”. moments of blissful, chain-kills and explosions” action. it could have been something special.

After 31% xbox 360 Far Cry 2 freezes up when trying to load next mission- protecting Mikes Bar or the Church, previous saves will load ok though??? very pissed.

Always have 2 saves, seems common sense now with all the shitty games coming out (Seriously, where do they get all their coders from? They’d fail to make Pac-man properly nowadays…). So when one crashes, I think fine, it happens, I’ll just load my other save. Oh but wait, that one has crashed aswell. What the hell? Learn to bloody code before you start making a game, a day of work on this and it would be awesome. Seems they’d prefer to start work on some other game that will probably turn out as crap as this one did…

My afterthoughts:

Iif they ONLY would release a 360 patch(show a bit of good faith & care for us (the buyers) who have MADE these software companies into corporate behemoths.

I’m amazed at how many glitches I encountered, along with having to replay the game (twice!) from 20-something percent, when my 84% games all crashed.

add to that, the constant freeze ups, mere seconds after loading various saves ; this must have occurred…. 40 times (or more) on mine.

this game…had it a little more variety in all of the missions, side and main (with even better, larger scripted actions) would have been GOTY.

Same issue for me, locks and I have to manually shut off console. Doesn’t seem to happen at any particular point or stress, just out of the blue you’re done.

was playing the game with no problems until at one stage about 65% completion, i saved the game after completing a mission, when i went to return to play the next day the game wouldn’t load. this was after choosing continue in story mode so i tried again to no avail, i then selected load game instead with the same result. luckily i’d save into another file at one stage just before and it loaded with no problems, however just recently after saving once again post mission completion and returning to play again this morning it wouldnt load at 92%. although fearing a re-occurence of this is saved in another file and when continuing from this one it has now stopped loading

Obviously there is relationship to percentage of saved content. Playstation 3 may also suffer this. At least one or two have that I know of.

I just froze up at 73%. I have only the one game slot and am not happy. I will not start the game again if I can’t finish what I’ve already started. Does anyone know if there is a patch released for the xbox360?

i got far cry 2 for chrstimas and that night it froze up at 50%, next at 62% and finaly when i thought it was going great at 89%…. i’ve done everything i can think of and heard of but still it wont work… to sum up… im f******* pissed! and need some help

All savefiles I am making after 62 % are corrupt – When I try to load them, the screen just freezes. There’s not even an E-mail adress to ubisoft on their website, however I finally managed to find their phonenumber after some googling. Luckily, I have a functioning savefile at 62 % so I don’t have to restart like many others have to. Basically, I realised that this game was full of glitches as soon as I got the problem of being unable to open the door to the Marina bar in Bowa Seko…
Ubisoft must realise that there is a serious problem in their actual game, as there are so many other gamers with the exact same problem. I am going to call them tomorrow and we’ll see what they say. Forman out.

Ok, so I’ve called ubisoft 3 times today. The first guy I spoke with said that I should clear the cache on my XBOX 360. I tried that, and the problem wasn’t solved. The second guy said that I should delete all corrupt save files and then overwrite working ones. At first, this actually worked – I had a functioning save file at the part where you’re supposed to drive a truck to the garage, but this became corrupt as soon as I saved over it when I had made more progress in the game. The third guy I spoke to said that ubisoft recognizes the problem and that they’re working on a patch. I said: “Yeah, but gamers have been having this problem since October, and you still haven’t done anything.” He said: “Yeah, I am terribly sorry about that but I don’t make the patches for this game unfortunately, otherwise I would have tried to solve this problem a long time ago (chuckle). The only thing you can do is to save your backup save and start a new game with another character and see if it works.” Since I’ve already waited for this patch 2 weeks now (I got the problem in the beginning of January), and I know some people have been having it since October, I am going to contact the Swedish Consumer Agency and tell them that I have a faulty product that ubisoft doesn’t care to fix.

Yeah I had the same problem too, everytime I tryed to play Farcry 2 It just kept on freezing randomly, same as for Fable 2

I have been waiting on a patch for this problem since mid November, and am losing faith that they will be able to solve the issue. Whats more disgusting is that scouring Ubisoft they are obviously removing comments that are discussing the issue (mine was removed almost immediately and contained no expletives or reason to take it down) thus making it harder for potential buyers to find out that there are so many bugs… What a monumental fall from grace for Ubisoft, a company I have always held in high regard… I feel they are giving us the customer support equivalent of sitting with hands over ears shouting lalalalala!

My farcry 2 for the xbox 360 won’t even load my saved game (which is on 69%) it will just freeze up in the process of loading it. At first i thought it was just my disk, but after searching about i discovered it’s a major thing, this is really annoying me now.

What is interesting is that the Electronic Frontier Foundation is in a constant battle against “Pirated Software”, this is EXACTLY the reason why many people use unlicensed product. It is a patently false delivery of product under the guise of a “Quality Deliverable”…

Perhaps the EFF will bring the hammer down on UBI Soft for encouraging piracy… somehow I doubt it very much…but they should…

Yea this game has been freezing on me 24/7 on single player like yesterday my xbox 360 works perfect but when i play far cry 2 somethings bound to happen but as i was saying yesterday when i was playing single player i was doing a weapon shop mission and it seems that every time im just driving or walking with my map out it freezes! and its annoying like i was driving with my map out no potral cars, no guard post, no enemies nothing was near me except for trees and then the game just freezes out of no where and since the saves in this game are kinda stupid how you have to finish a mission of sleep in ur safe house i lost all my progress. so thank you ubisoft for making spend my money that i can’t even play single player on!

Mike p. I hear you on that. I’ve tried several times to go to the UBI website and into thier support, log into my account and go to the ask a question page. Every time I try it I just get website errors and page not founds. Same with when I’ve tried going to thier “official far cry 2 forums”. I just get page not founds and never actually make it there. Really annoying.

So far my game has not been destroyed due to freezing but I do encounter holes in the graphics that lead to your demise, missing walls in safe points that get me killed when they are shot through while I have no weapons, rocks that will pul you under the stage and freeze you where you are. Ubisoft really has to put out a patch to fix these problems, because till then I’m playing Gears 2.

Yes, this happened to me as well. It happened to me at 69%. As i am only borrowing the game off of a mate i was not too bothered. Ubisoft have got to sort it out as all the people who had paid for the game must be vexed!

The same freeze/lock up issue has happened to my save game twice already. In both cases, once the game reached approximately 65% complete, the game froze each time I tried to load my save game file. This is not a hard drive issue either. Because this was an open-world game, I made a new game save each time and just deleted my old ones as I progressed….I still got the lock-up issue. Ubisoft should take the time to release a patch for this SERIOUS issue or I will personally never buy another game with their logo stamped on it.

Exactly the same symptoms for me, xBox crashes on load of farcry 2 62% savegame…. GRRR. If so many people are complaining of the same issue, how can ubisoft ignore it.

I’m truly ASTOUNDED…. that Ubisoft has not acted yet. I keep checking, daily, for any word / signs of a patch for the 360.

I will never go back and play FC2 again.. until I know for certain that all the issues have been 100% dealt with.

I’d like to replay the game from the beginning… with NO hardships / technical nightmares.

I keep scouring the net for any news of a 360 patch ; I would consider replaying the single-player game from the beginning , but ONLY if all problems are 100% rectified.

I had my “fun burned” so badly… and so many times, while trying to complete FC2 (*I had to replay from various, 20-odd percent saves ; like three times! Three game restarts , back from roughly the 70% area! )

I have got the same problem at 84%, i have multiple saves and went back on an ealier save, worked my way back up saved new saves multiple of times on the way. Came back and none of them would load, all freezing my computer. This is an extreme F**K OFF, is there any solution or way to dodge around this problem. Ubisoft should put out a Fix for this, if not simply boycot any of there future games!

I froze at 54%. I was attempting to get a briefcase in the southern map with a hang glider but missed. Luckily I had saved in a safe house very nearby if I did miss. So i decided to reload my system to try again. but when I tried to load that file, it locked up. It now freezes on the load screen no matter what I do. I tried shuffling the location of the file, moving it to a memory unit but still nothing. Hopefully Ubisoft will eventually get off their butts and fix this game crippling bug.

But if you save many times, you will be harmed.

62% game froze when it try to load a save game. Did the UFLL level in the Polytechnic were you got to get the target to call the pilot in for your buddy.
Unfortunatley I shot the target as I got in without any one seeing me. On realising that I was meant to Intimidate him, I went to load the last save point and BAAM. Game Frooze when loading arrow came up. To say i swore was an understatement, because it was the second time it did it after i’d got 54% through the game before and I started again. What was more horrific was I had found all Diamonds, Unlocked all Safe houses and Scouted every post. I’d maxed out the game apart from the Main APR and UFLL missions. I AM NOT STARTING AGAIN!
Contacted Ubi, told them It is definatley not the disc or console because they are beyond well looked aftered and this was they’re reply.

Maxed out the game, got all diamondas all safe houses and recce all the outposts. Only had the main missions left for APR and UFLL. Was at 62%, when I accidentally shot a target in the polytechnic for UFLL. I was meant to intimdate for my buddy so he could get some supplies. Realised this and went to load last save game from the pause menu and bam. This was the second time it did it. The first time was at 54%. i ain’t starting again.

Here’s Ubi’s response when i told them its not the game or the console.

I’ve got a similar issue with mine. I’m also stuck at 73%. I’ve finished all side missions, i think anyway, and i was let into the APR head quarters but all of the doors where closed. I’m annoyed because the game is amazing and i’d love to finish it. Has anyone got any ideas on how i can fix this?

what a load of crap my save game is corrupted on 58% everytime i try it the screen frezzes and i have to turn my xbox off by the main power what a pain in the arse this is

I’m at 65% (destroy the radio transmitter generator mission) playing the 360 version of the game. It freezes when I try to load a saved game.

Dammit, same **** just happened to me and im playin ps3 version, definitely not a single console fault. Just up to the informer mission and had to replay it. Feel sorry for tha guys that got stuck at 80 and 90%. I see that the last people to post were in november, is there a fix yet.? I take it there isn’t otherwise my version would have been updated by now. Gonna check now.

I got 84% done with the game. I was having fun with it too. I tried to get on about 3 weeks ago and every time I try to do anything in the single player menu, the game freezes and I have to restart the game. I’m really pissed too. Ubisoft needs to fix this problem. I wanto to finish the dang game!!!

I got a new game thinking it was the one i got from ebay that had some scratches but nothing major. Now i see this and am like WTF. I also got to 62 percent turned it off went to bed. When i tried to play again the next day it froze. turned it on and off like 15x I started to think my hard drive was messed up so i got a brand new one since i love the game so much and it did thesame thing

Yes, just after 62%, it freezed during a load. Loaded a game further back, made it past that. 68% or so, just out of nowhere it freezes again. I don’t feel like going through all this trouble again. I love Ubisoft, it’s a good game, but man does it frustrate you. For 60 bucks, you should get a completed game. How much does it cost to make a movie? How much do movies sell for… 18 on average?

I think the problem is not the game but your system. the game is simply to big for the wimpy xbox and none of you have realized this yet but xbox is lame. stop trying to save money and get ps3 cuz its amazing

49% completed, Cant get past barge mission. Killed everyone. Girl is downsatirs on barge, She only talks to me when im in upstairs cabin. She wont respont when i press Y when im standing next to her.

mine is the same thing, I’m at 62% and it just freezes on load. I can do everything else with the game including starting a new story……but can’t complete the one I’m on.
this sucks, tried everything and nothing seems to work. no other games on my 360 are effected.

Sorted the barge Glitch….If you right back to start of second map, you’ll get a different captain (a bloke)he seems much more in control of things and is happy to stand in the right place and talk to you when approached. Looks like the glitch is to do with female characters………..maybe the girl captain was “up on blocks”???

well… my game froze at 65% on the loading screen back in december after 36hrs. of gameplay. i, like, many others have posted in ubi’s forums and ubi isn’t doing squat about it. maybe ubi should fire their current troupe of QA testers. regardless of what ubi decides to do about this (at this rate, apparently nothing), i will refuse to spend another dime supporting any of their software. i suggest that, if you’re really pissed by this, you do the same. the only way to make a difference with these companies is to convince fellow gamers to refrain from buying their products.

The game keeps freezing on me too. I found that if you log out of xbox live and play offline (I physically disconnected from my router) then it helps a lot. It’s still freezing from time to time but not as much as it used to.

im locked on 98 % and i think that if ubisoft wont fix it , we should all as for our money back . we ale have bought product that is broken so we should receive money back

FREEZE!. During load it always freeze now, im locked on 73%
If I try to load a old save it sometimes works. There must be smt wrong when the game saves, and you have a lot of savegames there. Try deleting a few saves worked for me two times now.
But realy, this is my last game from ubisoft, this problem has been here for over a year now. AND STILL NO FIX?!

62% on 360 and freeze – bs! Loved this game until last week, tried everything to get it going again. Binned it. What a piece of @”&£&. Too late to spread the word not to buy this rip-off, Ubisoft have already cashed in on it big time, shame on them!

I have this same exact problem. Stuck at 73 percent, after playing the game this much and having a bug that gets me stuck and can’t let me finish the game. I’m just going to sell this game to the next chump and let them get stuck.

This is really Sh!#y got to 74% percent and wouldn’t let me load. Then i started a new game, same thing happened at 64%!

I don’t have the locking up described in here, instead, mine keeps locking up whenever I go to the marina! >:(

Shame as its a really good game. I wont bother buying anything from Ubisoft again until this fixed!!!

Got all 221 diamond breifcases, did all the side missions, got to 58%, and now the game keeps freezing and corrupting my save. I want the two weeks of my life back I wasted playing this piece of shit.

I to have suffered from the Load freezing screen. Loading anything past 65% is impossible. I have reached this from scratch twice.If I load a 62% file it\’s ok and will let me play and save past the 65 % mark but it wont load it the next day.
No point in playing it anymore.

Same problem here. Freezes up when I try to load a save game at 73%. Locks up sometimes when driving or zooming with the AS50 rifle. Any ideas what to do about this?

This is EXACTLY what happened to me. 92% and 62%. ****ing 80 game hours at least (the last one I went around finding every diamond location in the game). No way I’m starting over.

God this game is beautiful but it’s broken. I’m 65% and on ice. I have been using the same 4 or 5 slots saved to the 360 HD, wondering if I wasn’t being a little redundant. But as far as I’m concerned, the software should be elegant enough to take for granted, even with only one slot utilized. Where is the quality control Ubi? Microsoft? Consider this an open letter for my money back due to false advertising (a playable game).

I’ve completed over 50% of the game and not had a problem but all of a sudden the game has startedfreezing after I Start a mission, seem to be playing for ten or so minutes and it just freezes.

Game freezes at 42% level, but only after trying to select a weapon. The game was saved with the character holding the map. As soon as I try to select any weapon the character freezes.

Yeah this happened to me too.
When i first had the game, i played as frank. I got to 62% completion and the game froze up. i tried rebooting and loading the file, but it just froze up again.
I sold the game, but got it again only recently because i still had faith.

I managed to get to 84% completion. I’m very near the end of the game and the story is actually engaging me. I tried to continue today and it froze up again.

This is b*******. If the game wasn’t valuable, (which is surprising that it still is with these problems) I’d smear the disk with my own shit and send it to Ubisoft.

This has happened to me aswell. When i try loading my game from 62% it freezes instantly and shows no sign of loading of anything. THIS has got to be fixed im not playing from the start again.

it’s a heartbreak situation (esp. cuz I wanted to replay the game(- but , I’ve moved on, after just barely making it to the game’s conclusion. )

the terror of not knowing.. when it would freeze ; but knowing that is was GOING to – at any second. not fun. I had the freeziest damn pair of copies. yep. PAIR. froze every minute or so on me. lost 64% game saves twice. had to replay from 16% like 4 times.

all the traveling was a nuisance, anyway. the action was top-drawer, though.

My biggest issue is… when I achieve the USAS12 and the UZI, with the first rocket launcher… that combination of weapons causes me to be unable to FIRE ANYTHING. for the rest of the game, it’s locked up for good. if I save and come back, it’s still locked up. LAME

The game farcry 2 is one of the best games i have ever played in my life. My friends are always askin me if they can play it or let me lend it to them. But after a while the game started to freeze up. Every time i have to save the game and then it will just freeze on me. The kid at game-stop said i need to update the game and i dont know how to do it without x-box live. if anybody reads this comment i want then to write back to me as soon as they can. Farcry 2 is a piece of $#!^!! If its not fixed, they will not see anouther dime from me or anyone who has 15 seconds to listen to me scream about how much these games cost and then they can’t keep it from locking up.

My game works just fine, that is only in the single-player!
When I go online (multiplayer) a message pops up saying the disc is damaged or dirty, which it is not, its clean as can be !

yeah this happened to me today i was on 62% and i blew up this tower thing and then on my way out i died. i went to load it back but it froze i thought ok and turned off then turned it back on again when i went to continue it froze the did the same as before this time i went to load game and i loaded it it just froze then i went into settings and thought it was corrupted data but it wasnt. so i started a new game but who can be bothered to start again then it just might happen again.

Mine also locks up at 62 percent i also have one at 50% that is locked up and when i went to play and load the game.. right when i clicked on load it just froze with the loading screen and i tryed loading it like 20 times even returend it and got another still didn’t work, then i thought it was a HD problem but i got 120GB and i went to saved games, and 2 saves that i have they where gray and i couldn’t see any picture. and on my other games they got the full pictures and i just cant find a way to play Far Cry without starting over….geting to 62% IS HARD AND I HADE ALL THE GOOD WEAPONS!!!

The game has never frozen for me on my x360 but ive run into a game-breaking glitch. I’m just over 50% complete & I had to free a captive. I cleared the area then unlocked the door to free him. I talked to him and that was it. It did not say i completed the mission. I’ve tried searching the area in case i did not kill anyone. Ive gone back to HQ (cease-fire zone) but cannot accept any missions.

I am at 73% and have finished 23 out of the 33 main missions. I am going to the UFLL HQ’s and the guard lets me in but I can’t do a mission b/c the door is shut. I am searching for a fix, and I see that “Ubihard” isn’t going tpo do anything. I am going to contact the BBB and even try contacting G4. If enough of us contact G4 we just may be heard!

It freezes up on mine too, although mine is just too random but everytime I turn it on, I'm able to do 1 mission then stop because I'm scared I'll be doing a hard mission and it freezes, all progress lost. once I had an awesome playthrough in a mission. found lots of diamonds and kicked lots of enemy butt with stealth. Suddenly the game crashed. means I gotta find all the diamonds again and kill everyone again and run and drive the distances, and who knows it might freeze again and I do it again and again. D:

So, I can t'get any new missions and I'm stuck at 73% (on xbox). I can't find any title updates on xbox live so I've found patches online and downloaded them to my pc, transferred them onto a flash drive, but now what…??? HELP!!!!
