Microsoft News: Security of Windows operating system

It is no secret that there have been a number of security concerns with Windows, but on Monday Microsoft will announce that the security of their Windows operating system has been greatly improved, while at the same time the threat of computer viruses and other risks have increased.

Microsoft has said that the problem with these ongoing threats is because of organized crime, as well as naïve users and their competitors. Today is Microsoft’s twice yearly Security Intelligence Report,” and it is expected for Microsoft to state that Windows was able to remove 43 percent more malicious or potentially harmful software in the first half of 2008.

Microsoft have said that it is improvements to the security of Windows Vista along with updates for Windows XP that has made both Operating Systems much less of an attractive software to try and target.
