Apple’s competitors to stop talent poaching with non-compete clauses
By: Peter Chubb | November 1, 2008 | Leave a CommentCompetitors of Apple are now heading to court to try and enforce a non-compete clause, so that their former talent will not head directly to Apple and pass on any of their valuable intellectual property.
The reason that Apple’s competitors have decided to go ahead with this is due to the fact that two high-level industry executives left their jobs, and took jobs with Apple. The workers have since been hit with charges of breaking non-compete pacts by their ex-employers.
IBM has sued Mark Papermaster this month, and Motorola sued Michael Fenger back in July. IBM is now back in court as they try to stop Papermaster, who is a Power chip and blade server guru from taking up a new job with Apple.
