Next week is an important time for not only U.S. citizens, but also for the rest of the world, as there will be a new President of the United States. Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer knows how much this campaign has relied on social networking, which is a great time for him to release his memo titled “A Platform for the Next Technology Revolution.” This is basically a Cloud computing memo.
Both John McCain and Barack Obama have not only been using these social network sites, but also other cloud-based services to help with their presidential campaign. Both men will go to the White House knowing how important IT is, and will have a different attitude towards federal IT systems.
Next week could be the perfect time for vendors to pitch their product, and the new direction that they would like to take these services in, especially cloud services in. Many believe that this would also be a good time to form a partnership with Google.
