Garmin GPSMAP 696 and 695 Portable Aviation GPS
By: Daniel Chubb | October 30, 2008 | Leave a CommentToday Garmin (NASDAQ: GRMN) has announced two new GPS devices; the portable aviation navigation systems include Garmin’s GPSMAP 696 and 695.
The GPSMAP 696 has now become Garmin’s flagship model in the aviation range, this product offers the GPSMAP 496 features and more including: expanded weather, electronic charts, airways, and a display that is three times larger (7-inches).
Garmin’s 696 has been improved in so many ways, the sunlight readable 7-inch portrait screen has a high-resolution and is easy to read night or day. You will also find multiple keys to the right and bottom of the bezel that frames the bright screen, these buttons make it easy to turn the weather display on and off, use the menu, zoom in/out, flight plan, and find nearest areas of interest.
The Garmin 696 also has a rotary knob/joystick to the right of the display; this is similar to what’s on the G1000. Hit the read link below for the full details.
