If you wanted to use any sort of office program, then you would have to purchase some expensive software and then load it on to your computer, which wastes valuable resources. However the new way to go is by using an online office program.
The two that look to be the best of the bunch is Google Docs, which has a Google Word Processor and the upcoming Microsoft Office online. With the Google version you are able to create documents from scratch online, all the basics are covered, from making bullet lists, adding tables, changing fonts and much more. The best thing is that Google Docs is free.
Microsoft is a bit behind when it comes to their online Office program, but we should see Word, Excel, and PowerPoint online in a beta format in 2009. Microsoft do have one added advantage, they can draw from the success of their ever popular Office software.
Would you switch or at least try the online office programs, also what do you think about Office going online?
