Sony rejects PS3 Christmas price cut
Filed under: Gaming, Sony Playstation 3

Those of you who were hoping to purchase a Sony PS3 over the holiday season will still have to pay the full price, as Sony has rejected calls for a price cut. Sony reckons that the so called high price of the PlayStation 3 will not be an issue during the holiday season.
Sony Computer Entertainment managing director Ray Maguire had told VideoGamer.com, that they understand that they will always get pressure from consumers over the price, but Sony has a business to run, and as a result need to do the right thing for the company and its shareholders.
Gamers now worry that Microsoft will be able to take advantage of this, as they have already introduced a number of price cuts for their Xbox 360 games console. Should Sony cut the price of the PS3, or are they right to look after their shareholders?

when comparing price of PS3 with XBox360, you must take into account the fee xbox charges for their online network.. with sony ps3 online play is absolutely free. Thus even the cheaper xbox costs more if than pricier ps3 if you use it for a couple of years.
I agree, anyone that ses a xbox is better or even equally as gd is out of there mind the ps3 is amazin
We need at least a 100 to 50 dollar cost the ps3 ablity are good +there’s no
Question the ps2 dominated its generation with exeception of the underated dreamcast + they can still do it again just need price cut!
I don’t think ps3 needs a price-cut. Once you buy the console, you only enjoy its benefits. But with a 360, you buy only tensions.
The only way I’d buy a PS3 is with a massive Price Cut. It has NO games on it that I’m even remotely interested in that I cannot also get an the 360. I don’t play games online (old school solo player), I could care less about Channels, Trophies, etc., and I already have a BluRay player.
360 & Wii is all I need. At least until Sony gives me a reason to buy at a price that interests me.
