Sony rejects PS3 Christmas price cut
By: Peter Chubb | October 29, 2008 | 5 CommentsThose of you who were hoping to purchase a Sony PS3 over the holiday season will still have to pay the full price, as Sony has rejected calls for a price cut. Sony reckons that the so called high price of the PlayStation 3 will not be an issue during the holiday season.
Sony Computer Entertainment managing director Ray Maguire had told VideoGamer.com, that they understand that they will always get pressure from consumers over the price, but Sony has a business to run, and as a result need to do the right thing for the company and its shareholders.
Gamers now worry that Microsoft will be able to take advantage of this, as they have already introduced a number of price cuts for their Xbox 360 games console. Should Sony cut the price of the PS3, or are they right to look after their shareholders?
