Fallout 3 Review for Sony PS3 Changed on IGN

A number of game sites write a review on a game, and then later change their mind so have to edit their review. This is what IGN has done with their Fallout 3 review for the Sony PS3. In the first review, IGN said that the PS3 version has some major issued. The new edited version of the review has removed any mention of that statement.

The thing with IGN is that they always try to offer the best reviews possible, and it was fair of them to move that part of the review, as it was an honest mistake. Fallout 3 on the PlayStation 3 delivers on all fronts, which is something that IGN must have realized.

A number of gamers still state that the PS3 version of Fallout 3 is still inferior to the Xbox 360 version, and that is an argument between fans of both consoles. People always seem to make a big deal out of these things.

Apparently because the same issues existing on the 360 version, yet mention of those problems were swept under the carpet (or Microsoft paid to sweep them under the carpet).

Honestly, is there ANY credible advertisment sponsored, yet impartial review sites? I can’t think of any….

    @mark

you mean Sony paid IGN and others to remove the incriminating statements from their reviews, right? Play the damn game on all formats. Now tell me the PS3 version stands up to the 360 and pc versions. The PS3 can’t handle ports, full stop. Go play LBP and stop speaking douche.

Jesus, this site and it’s users live a goddamn fantasy land. You’re a disgrace to those of us who work in this industry….

Hahaha, so the PS3 really is crap, thanks IGN!!…

It is a shame that review sites like this cannot be trusted. The GameSpot debacle took away most of my trust in the system, and now this….

I have Review sites whoring for cash on one side, and fanboys on the other side…

Where do I turn to for unbiased reviews?

    @ Ben

You can turn to Ben ‘Yahtzee’ Croshaw on Zero Punctuation

Just Google ‘Zero Punctuation’ and check out his reviews. Not only are they unbiased and brutally uncompromising, but they’re hilarious as well. Honest, unflinching and extremely helpful if you need to make a decision on what game to buy in this busy period.

    yeah…

I’ve seen this before fro IGN only that time they didn’t edit their review. When Splinter Cell came out, I read IGN’s reviews on the 360 and PS3 versions of this game. Basically what IGN had said is that the PS3 version was inferior to the 360 version. The reveiwer for SplinterCell mentioned all the flaws that were in the PS3 version which weren’t apparent in the 360 version.
I wasn’t sure about this looking at videos of both versions. So I contacted another reviewer from a well credited unbiased site, that doesn’t bother with huge advertising campaigns. What he had told me that the same flaws in the PS3 version can be found in the 360 version, and that the reveiwer from IGN is talking out of his ass if he thinks there not in there for the 360 version. A reveiwer trying to give more credit to the 360 version as at that time of both PS3 and 360 life, many jounalists and reviewers favoured the 360 anway, especially in the U.S.

Fallout 3 is a slightly inferior version to the 360 and this will be down to the devs. Bethesda Softworks showed with Oblivion 4 on PS3 that they can do a great port as the PS3 version looked better and had faster loaded times. Bethesda Softworks could have done this again as there are PS3 games that are visually and technically more better than in Fallout 3 for both versions. Bethesda Softworks would have had to delay the PS3 version of Fallout 3 for these improvements and I think that would be what PS3 owners would have wanted. But then again Fallout 3 for PS3 does score in the 9’s in many gaming sites.

Honestly I’m not to sure if Fallout 3 is as good as many sites are saying. Some gamers have been disappointed. I have Oblivion 4 and must of played 100+ hours on it. Even with the faster loading on PS3, I must of spent 2 thirds of the game looking at loading screens and the inventory screen, not my idea of fun.
