BlackBerry Storm, T-Mobile G1, Nokia 5800 Direct Sunlight Solved

When choosing a new cell phone today we tend to go for the touchscreen option, like the Apple iPhone BlackBerry Storm, T-Mobile G1 and Nokia 5800. Take anyone of these phones and you will know that you will have trouble seeing the screen in direct sunlight.

Hopefully help is at hand from Samsung, who have come up with a new technology that could see an end to screen problem in the sun. Samsung Electronics have developed color active matrix electrophoretic display (EPD) e-paper, which is carbon nanotube-based.

This technology can be used for cell phone use, as the carbon nanotubes will allow the screen to be very thin. On of the reasons that the new screen can be seen in direct sunlight is for one reason, low power consumption.
