Audi A1 Sportback Hybrid
By: Peter Chubb | October 29, 2008
The Audi A1 Sportback Hybrid is yet another new direction for the A1, showing that Audi are committed to making this model versatile in many ways. The new Hybrid version will use a 1.4 TFSI petrol engine, which will work in conjunction with a 20 kW (27 hp) electric motor.
The Audi A1 Sportback Hybrid can run just on its electric power for more than 60 miles on just a single charge. When the car is in hybrid mode, it will go from 0 to 60 in just 7.9 seconds and reach a top speed of 124mph.
Fuel consumption is what it is all about, and with 72.4mpg and CO2 emissions of 92 g/km, the results speak for themselves. When the electric motor works with the combustion engine, there is an increase in power of 30 percent.
